Green Day - American Idiot (Never thought I would like this kind of music)
U2's 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'. The best release of 2005 IMO. 2005 was so slow that these guys are saying albums from 2004 are the best of 2005!

Respect for mentioning three of my favorite bands in a sentence! So what do you think of the new Arcturus? It took me a while to get used to the new singer, but the rest of the band is as solid as ever. It might grow on me, but currently it's a great album but not quite album of the year material for me.

Yep, I always order albums from www.jpc.de and usually get them on the day of release or one day after at the latest. /lastroots

When does The Darkness' album come out? I'm suprised there hasn't been any "Well I know it's not out yet, but I know that The Darkness will be my favourite of the year"... Is it coming in the next couple of weeks or in 2006? I'm starting to hear the new single on the radio a bunch. I got kinda tired of the Foo Fighters album pretty quickly.

When does The Darkness' album come out?
This may be old and outdated, but the Official Website states that the album will be released in the UK in just a few days. Nov 28th. In North America will be released a month later... http://www.thedarknessrock.com/news/

City of Evil - Avenged Sevenfold by far the best album this year, Out of exile by audioslave was pretty good too. i personally hate disturbed, the guys vocals are exactly the same in everysong, he hits the same notes at the same point in the measure everytime, i hate them sooo much. and bigger bang by the stones was good too.

For me there hasn't been a single album released this year worth the time it took to record....
You need to listen to more music, then! *checks your list* I stand by my position more firmly than ever However, Exodus's new album - i have heard good things about them, what style are they, and don't say ambient black metal Go on, buy it, you'll probably really like it. They are generally thrash metal and if you like Slayer-type music then you'll probably like this. It's a bit like Slayer but I find it more interesting (not to mention the solos sound better!). If you do like their new one then don't hesitate to buy 'Tempo of the Damned', their album of 2004. It's a really fun album.
