Way better. It's like comparing Chris Farley to Charlie Chaplin.

there was a time alone is better than contraband, everything else is just gravy ok

that doesn't even mean TWAT is the best song, its just one example of one song from new gnr that is better than everything by VR, and I like VR.

definetly different... Is this topic really going to be fair?? I mean have axl singing some tunes on CB and you'd love it too.. ?I think it's better lyrically and vocally because axl is my favorite singer... ?CD has that wuss factor though, and CB to me has better rockers and instruments... Things seem too laid back so far with the newest leaks

An EP with studio versions of The Blues, Madagascar, Chinese Democracy, IRS, Rhiyad, TWAT, Better, and CITR would be better than any big time rock album in a long time, including Contraband

You can't compare the two albums. ?Axl has had more than a decade to work on this album, and if in that time he couldn't come up with an album that was better than Contraband, that would be beyond pathetic.

I like Contraband a lot, but Madagascar and TWAT make this better than Contraband.

I still need to see more rockers, but IMO Madagascar and TWAT are masterpieces and the best music available in years.

Demo's or not, it's all music. You can all hear the songs.

Are the ten songs we have heard from new Guns better, in songwriting quality, than VR's album...? It is a fair comparison.

I'll put it a different way, if I was at the gym working out I rather hear contraband, but if I was kicking back relaxing I rather hear songs like twat or citr.. So honestly both are so different and for me fit in different areas beer

ARC I think you know the answers you will recieve..... The songs are totally different from length to instruments to style.. It depends on your musical taste.. This new gnr album is not a typical album contraband is pretty much a basic rock album, if you like longer piano ballads and sound effects you will love CD better if you like more striahg tup rockers you might like CB better

I liked Farley to, he was a riot, but rather one-dimensional. Chaplin was a comic genius. I think "Contraband" is a great meat and potatoes rock album, and shows hints of brilliance with "Loving the Alien." I'd still give that album high marks, but these new leaks are better than just meat and potatoes hard rock--they are brilliant.

I'm glad someone brough this up.  Regardless of comparison, I feel that the sentiment behind this thread speaks for itself.  Though I haven't heard CITR and don't plan on it until the album is released, I have heard everything else that has been released.  Guys, is it just me or are we headed for a very big dissapointment?  I mean, cmon.  Some of the stuff is really good and  some shows definite promise, but over guys, im sorry but I am quite dissapointed so far.  Thoughts?

That's a loaded question if I've ever heard one. They're two totally different styles.
