I would think he has heard them.....for some reason he seems more curious than the others regarding what Axl is up to, in terms of music.....or at least the others hide it better

maybe axl gave slash a copy of it and then slash leaked some of the songs out so axl responded with that press release

My guess would be that the amount of time that's gone buy since he left, alot of the bitterness and hard feelings have faded
