Check out the booklet. "Rose" is the only one credited for the entire song, so he wrote everything.

Yeah, but the booklet has some typos. You know, I don't think Axl wrote Slash's solos.

Wow, I think you might be on to something there!  ok

Still, that doesn't affect the fact that Axl wrote the song and Slash played guitar on the recording, two completely seperate concepts in copyright law.

Axl was responsible for the song structure, melody, lyrics etc etc....the other guys put their spin on things of course and made it GnR....

but Axl had the main rhythm worked out and all the orchestra shit and had specific ideas for what he was looking for for drums and bass and solos.....the band managed to provide exactly what Axl wanted.
