« on: August 28, 2006, 01:30:06 PM »

yeah what bands have gn'r gotten you too listen on if you don't get what i mean i can start with an example

if it would not have been for gn'r i would prolly not listen to bullet for my valentine and avenged sevenfold but after they played with gn'r this summer i started to listen to them and must say that they are quite good ok

another band was called crashdiet, a swedish band but they split up after the frontman commited suicide, dave lepard was his name, only like 25 years old.. he was a huge fan of axl and got the name of the band from the song so i thought they might be good.. and yeah they were okey? yes

then whitout guns n roses i prolly would not listen to velvet revolver for obvius reasons

theres prolly more band but at the moment these are the bands that i can come up with..

so what bands have you gotten to like thanks to gn'r?

After I heard TSI, I really fell in love with Nazareth. I wasn't familiar with them before.

Also ELO. They were mentioned in a GNR article a while back. Telephone Line is off the hook.

And Thin Lizzy.

There's probably more, I'll think later.

Fear
The Damned

Actually even though I was always aware of him and his work, I wasn't a fan of Elton John until I saw him perform with Axl and heard Axls' "The One" intro for Sweet Child O Mine. That man has to be the king of the pop ballad.

quite a bit.  i was 12 when i first got into GnR and they were the first proper band that I was really into (after an early diet of pop!) - so was interested in what their influences were to achieve their sound, consequently got into Aerosmith, Stones and AcDc and Motorhead
