Does that one have "schism" on it, because after 10000 days I vowed never to by a Tool album again.

10000 Days is just fantastic. Id go so far as to say it just beats Lateralus!

This is just based on my own tastes, obviously.

In the rock/pop category:

Pulp - Different Class (1996)
The Arcade Fire - Funeral (2005)

In the hard rock category:

Louis XIV - Louis XIV (2003) or The Best Little Secrets Are Kept (2005)
Buckcherry - Buckcherry (1999) or Time Bomb (2001)

In the vocal jazz category:

Matt Dusk - Back In Town (2006)
Frank Sinatra - My Way (Greatest Hits) (1998)

Louis XIV... hard rock? Really? I don't think so...

You're right, not all of it. But tracks like The Grand Apartment and God Killed the Queen keep them out of the pop category in my opinion. It probably could go either way. Their live show is some LOUD-ass rock, though. That's for sure. It's good stuff.

From the later half of the 90s I'd say (in no particular order)...

The Verve - Urban Hymns
Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory?
Foo Fighters - The Colour And Shape
U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind
Strapping Young Lad - City
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Beck - Odelay
Rage Against The Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness

and from the 00s I'd narrow it down to one of these...

Coldplay - A Rush of Blood To The Head
The White Stripes - Elephant
Tool - Lateralus
System Of A Down - Toxicity
Radiohead - Kid A
The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soilders
Queens of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
The Darkness - Permission To Land
Wolfmother - S/T

That album was released in October 2000.? ok

best album of the decade so far....Bloodflowers - The Cure

I don't know really. I just think that album truely sums up what the Cure is all about and was a great, great album on par with and possibly better than the very best Cure albums.? Maybe for me this album just met and even exceeded my expectations more so than any other album so far this decade.

If the later half of the 90s are mentioned, then so must "The Fragile".
