Indiana Jones 4 Coming May 2008!
Source: The Associated Press, Hunter, Strmchsr December 29, 2006

George Lucas said Friday that filming of the long-awaited Indiana Jones 4 will begin next year with Harrison Ford set to star again. Lucas said he and Steven Spielberg recently finalized the script for the film.

"It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet," the 62-year-old filmmaker said during a break from preparing for his duties as grand marshal of Monday's Rose Parade.

Exact film locations have not been decided yet, but Lucas said part of the movie will be shot in Los Angeles.

The fourth chapter of the "Indiana Jones" saga, which will hit theaters in May 2008, has been in development for over a decade with several screenwriters taking a crack at the script, but it only recently gained momentum.

Lucas kept mum about the plot, but said that the latest action flick will be a "character piece" that will include "very interesting mysteries."

"I think it's going to be really cool," Lucas said.

At the inaugural Rome Film Festival in October, the 64-year-old Ford said he was excited to team up with Lucas and Spielberg again for the fourth "Indiana Jones" installment. Ford said he was "fit to continue" to play the title role despite his age.

Ford played Indiana Jones in 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1984's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

If they use CG graphics and backgrounds in this, I'm tracking down George Lucas and kicking him squarely in the balls.

INDIANA MOTHER FUCKING JONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my most anticipated movie of my whole life I think.  I love all the Indy movies and still watch all 3 of them all the time.  Harrison Ford is amazing and Indy 4 CANNOT BE A LETDOWN!!!!  If it is... I may never be the same again.

May 2008 is a long way away but by that time I will at least have CD in my hands FOR SURE and hopefully 10 new b-sides as well!!!

So is Ford going to be the main character? They're not gonna treat him like they did Connery, and have a younger character as well? Harrison will be 66 when it comes out, but he was great in the last film he was in, Firewall.

Hopefully this won't turn out to be sad like Roger Moore was in a View To A Kill.

I can't wait to see this though.  smoking

The script was written by Jeff Nathanson and David Koepp who did the finalizing on it, the script might be based on a story by Lucas though.

I'm sure there will be some CGI but not so much as in Episode 3 for example, Spielberg basicly has the say in these kind of things, they'll probably even shoot it on film.

George wrote some great dialogue for the First three, and for the first the SW films. He even wrote some great stuff for ROTS. It's just the first two SW prequels that he tried too hard on.

5-10 years ago I was waiting on CD and the new SW films. Here we are after all 3 SW prequels still waiting on CD. Don't be shocked if we see 3 new Indy films, and still haven't heard CD.

He's 64, what do you expect? Not like he's 34 anymore. (Or whatever he was in the Indy series.)

he was in firewall last year, that had plenty of action, I don't see why he couldn't - they have stunt doubles anyway.

The Last Crusade grew really weak near the end dude, "The Temple of Doom" will always remain Indy's greatest adventure Wink

Sure the 2nd one has it's lame parts, but the fight scenes underground are signature 'Indy, and the "Bridge sequence" is probably my alltime, favorite Indiana Jones moment.

I love all three Indy films, but the Last Crusade is easily my favourite. I watched it recently and it pretty much keeps you interested the whole way through whether it's the storyline or great action scenes. It's a great action adventure film that's for sure, and I only hope that thos next one is half of what the Last Crusade was.
