its an fender aerodyne... sweet ass bass!

i was close to buy one, but then i found out its not a good body and that duff's bass is modified and so forth...

looks sweet though!

and about Duff and Dave swapping axes, that's something very usual in the studio.
it very rarely happens that someone uses the same instrument for a whole album.
I remember pics of Duff with that bass from the Contraband days too, maybe live even, not quite sure.
