From a local newspaper:
Today all Gumball 3000 drivers have been stopped and checked through by the German police. 16 drivers were arrested, 52 drivers had to pay a 420€ fine and the rest was allowed to continue their drive behind a convoi of police-cars to their destination, Frankfurt Hahn airport.

anyone remember Owen Hart?

I remember that owen hart didnt die wrestling...
He died be cause he jumped before he got harnessed properly...

I think its just the point a person who has no affiliation with the gumball have a chace of getting splattered... Trust me i'm not against it, but when people are breaking the law while they drive, and kill people... It needs to be looked at...
but people break the roads laws everyday and someone gets killed so its nothing new, also you will probably find that these people drive like this everyday of thier lifes its just they all get together to do it at once on the same roads at same time, i know if i did it i would drive how i normally do which is foot to the floor at every given chance, makin some very questionable overtakin chances at the same time.?

Exactly, which makes it that much more dangerous...

Gumball isnt allowed to cross france anymore.

They drive on normal roads, they don't have authorisations to do so and that's why i think they are stupid.
Jay Kay is one of the yearly nutters to do it and Jason Priestley almost lost his life once.

Two Britons arrested over Gumball Rally death in Macedonia

Police have arrested two Britons competing in the Gumball Rally for their alleged involvement in an accident that killed an elderly driver and critically wounded his wife. Police on Thursday identified the men as Nicholas Morley, 30, and Matthew McConvile, 32. They were driving a Porsche 911 in the Gumball 3000 rally _ a 4,825-kilometer (3,000-mile) race across Europe. They were arrested on provisional charges of endangering traffic and abandoning an accident victim, police spokesman Ivo Kotevski said. The offenses could lead to a one-year prison sentence if convicted. More serious charges could be pressed later. Kotevski said Morley had been taken into police custody for a maximum of 30 days after being questioned by a magistrate in the town of Struga, about 190 kilometers (120 miles) southwest from the capital Skopje. McConvile was released, but it was not immediately clear whether charges against him would be dropped. Kotevski said the crash occurred Wednesday, while the Britons were driving to neighboring Albania. Vladimir Cepuljoski, 67, died of injuries while being transported to a hospital in Skopje. His wife, Margarita, remains in critical condition.
