The dude rules. Great action star, great director, total badass.
My favorite film of his, and maybe of all-time is
The Unforgiven.

The shoot-out at the end is one of the best in any sort of action film.
I also really like how the film de-glorifies violence and shows the moral ambiguity of gunfighters.

Unforgiven is great but I'd have to few "For a few Dollars More" is my favorite of his... Sergio Leone and Ennio Marricone are the shit
Also Mystic River is great...

The end shoot-out is not only brilliantly shot and coreographed, but it really excells in the extreme lack of self righteousness of Clints character.
-Well, well, isn't it William Munny out of Missouri. Killer of women and children.
-That's right, I've killed women and children. Probably killed everything that could crawl at one time or another, and now I'm here to kill you little Bill.
Pure gold.

I wonder if Clint met GN'R and spoke with them. You can see the whole band in
The Dead Pool
. Slash and maybe some others are in some other scenes.

I grew up watching Clint Eastwood films because my dad used to watch them all the time, but these days I find myself enjoying them quite a bit too. I've stared buying the Dirty Harry Films, and will start purchasing some of his better westerns too. Any other recommendations?
From discussion above, it looks as though Unforgiven is already on the 'must buy' list.
