Maybe GNR's 'Dead Horse' could be the theme tune....

If ever a series needed a total reboot its Star Trek - i wonder how many mins into the film it will be before we have time travelling, borg technology and problems solved entirely by nonsensical technical terms...

Yeah, because the general public is just calling out for The Further Adventures Of Characters We Don't Care About. It's a cult/geek franchise which survives on the bloated wallets of the fans they already have, who flock to every new iteration. If the public weren't interested in the characters the first time around why would they now flock to the franchise to see Star Trek's Animal House: Lil' Spock?!

I'll bet my ass that this reboot is a one-off, completely failing to revive the franchise and encouraging Paramount to "retire" it yet again. Until the next executive suite cull, that is.

What I don't understand is why Spock was the only Martian on the Enterprise. Huh

Maybe this new movie'll have more. That'd be pretty cool.
