Deathstars: The Official Thread

Anyone else like this Swedish metal band? I know there's a few fans here on the forums, but they're just not a very well known group in the States. Could have a lot to do with the fact that they're almost-two-year-old second (superior) album has yet to see an official release here. They're like an early M?tley Cr?e with industrial flourishes, sort of like if Generation Swine-era Cr?e recorded Too Fast for Love and Shout at the Devil. They're just a really kick ass band, so if you're not familiar with them, definately check them out because you might be surprised. They've got two albums, Synthetic Generation (2003) and Terminator Bliss (2006), and if you like getting into the visual aspect of the band (which this band is ... very visual), check out some of their videos. They're all up on their site for download in multiple formats, which is unique, but in the meantime I'll post up some YouTube links. They're latest video for "Virtue to Vice" just came out, and it's pretty cool. They're videos off this album have certainly been their best. I'd almost avoid watching their first video ("Synthetic Generation") first. The look of the band and just the video in general screams more record company interference. The band don't look like that and it doesn't represent their music at all. Check out "Cyanide" or "Blitzkrieg."

They rawk! i think Termination Bliss is their best, aint any real filler on that album what i can remember, it was a good while since i listend to it though so maybe i have glorified memories of the album

I think Whiplasher's voice rocks, but to each his own I guess. I have a lot of friends who just can't get behind me on this band, either. People I've played them for ... it seems to be a real love/hate thing here in the States. They don't even have a record deal over here.

I think his dark n' deep vocals fits great to the music!

This may sound dorky or weird but i think i'm heading to a deppressive time for some weeks maybe months for some reasons i don't wanna tell.. and his vocals speaks to me in some cool way

I think "Four Military Marilyn Mansons" would have been a better band name.
