If you got a email saying that your book has shipped then you will get the book. I was thinking about the people who paid and? didn't get the email.

I got only the e-mail of order's confirmation. I didn't get the e-mail confirmation about the shipping, but, in the link of the status of my order I can see that the book was shipped. I ordered it on 02nd October and saw this status on 09th October.

Why I didn't get the email about shipped confirmation? The book was really shipped?

A guy in Brazil that ordered the book on 06th October received it on 01st November, and me... nothing!

I used paypal and paid for the book on 22nd October in my credit card bill.

Please, what can I, EnhancedBooks.com and RecklessRoad.com do?

Thank You for your attention,

Aline.

i havent had the chance to go through the interactive content yet, but all credit to Marc Canter for putting together this piece, it is by far the nicest GNR book out on the market currently, completely objective, free of opinions, full of info a fan would want, and it is well written.

good work. ok

That tidas sloan take on Dazed and Confused is cool.  This is what I'm excited about, hearing all this previously unheard stuff.  Cool as.  Amazing that slash was doing that at the age of what, 17?  Very impressed.

Here is some help for the online part of the book. go to enhancedbooks.com click on the log in on the top right hand part of the page, fill out the info and put in the code thats in the first page of your book. Then after you submit it then log in again and this time stay on the left side of the page and just put in your ussername and password only and click login. Thats it then you can see the whole book. The site is still under construction so the extra photos are not up yet and only 1/2 of the pages have been enanced so far.

Everybody who ordered only one book had received it, and a lot of people who ordered after me.

I asked to Marc Canter if I could make an interview with him for my Brazilian board www.perfectcrimegnr.com . Although he could not do it, he was nice enough and kindly sent me the full interview he did for Rolling Stone Turkey. I asked if I could post it and he said it was ok, but I (or any mods) would remove it if necessary.

So, here's the interview:

* The guys call you the sixth member of the band, exactly when and
where did you meet them, do you remember that exact moment? Did you
meet one of them at first, or were they all together?

I met slash in 1976 in the fifth grade. We were both at Kentucky Fried Chicken and he
went to my grammar school. He was thinking of taking my Motorbike,
until he recognized me from school. In 1984, i met the rest of them. By
1985, we were all good friends.

* Can you tell your first memory with GN?R?

My first memory with GNR was the first time Axl, Izzy, Steven and Slash first rehearsed together in
May of 1984. They played anything goes and Axl had really blew me away.
I had been following Slash through garage bands and never have i seen
someone sing like that before. The energy in the room was tremendous.

* Were they kind of an introverted band or were they really open (at
those early days)? How did you gain their trust? (Because you know,
they say that you had limited access to the band.)

I always had unlimited access because they were my friends and i was
helping them.

* Which member of GN?R was close to you mostly and why ?at that time-?

Slash was because i knew him longer but later i became really close
with Axl as well.

* And their relationship with each other at that time, how did it look
like?

GNR was five guys that knew that they were the best at what they do so
they had each others back.

* Did you think that they were going to become this huge group
worldwide, even at the beginning, did you believe in their potential?
What do you think was special about them, like what made them different
from the others?

I did think they would make it if they stayed together because they
were the perfect mix of talent at the time. I just didn't know they
would be as big as they got. They're look, they're sound, they're image
and they're style was the trend that was set by them.

* How did the scene look like at that time around 1985, L.A and the
Sunset Strip?

The scene was dead at the time, they started their own scene.

* And how did people react to GN?R at that time?

GNR had a strong following, the band had great song writing and tons of
energy. Each show brought more and more people.

* How did you decide to prepare a book like this?

I started this book in 1993 and had my first manuscript a year later.
Then i had Axl look at it in which he added some great information that
he remembered from the shows himself. I laid out photos and text to art
boards and had 380 pages. i got an agent that didn't know how to market
the book and was asking too much money up front for it from publishers.
i then switched to different agents but i still had the same problems.
I was told that when the band put out a new record, i would get a book
deal. A few years went by and i decided to put the book out myself. So
i cut it down to 280 pages to help with the cost of printing, but for
some reason i never did it. The book ended up sitting in my closet
until last year when i met Steven Slomkowski and Jason Porath from
Shoothip Press. When i saw what they were doing with enhanced books,
and the way that they can bridge the audio and video online with the
book, i knew that now was the time, and these were the guys that were
going to do it right. Also, the new GNR record was set to come out in
March of 2007 so the time was all good.

* Can you tell a little bit about the people who are involved in your
book, other than the GN?R members?

My plan was to have all the guys look at the book and make comments
about anything they remember from the shows. Jason Porath, my co-author
wanted to interview the band members for additional story. I started
thinking that anyone that was there should have their say such as the
roadies, strippers, record company people, producers, girlfriends and
old band members from the bands before GNR. Jason took their stories
and weaved them into the book in subjects that come up throughout the
book.

* Were you still close to GN?R after the ?80s, like at the Use Your
Illusion 1- 2 period, too?

I lost touch with Izzy and Steven but stayed very close to Axl, Slash
and Duff.

* If so, when did you first realize that they were falling apart?

When Izzy left, i knew that there was going to be some problems in the
song writing. Izzy was sort of the backbone to a lot of the songs. Izzy
was a great song starter and then the rest of the band would add to it
and change it around. When it was time to write songs in 1994, Slash
gave Axl 12 songs to work with and Axl only wanted to use 3 or 4 of
them. Slash replied by saying "oh yeah" and then used them in his
Snakepit record. Axl wanted to move on with something different. Slash
wanted to stay with his funky hard rock riffs in which the songs
sounded similar to Appetite for Destruction songs. The other problem
was that Axl wanted to add more to the mix by possibly having 2 lead
guitar players. With Slash, there was only room for 1. I think they
were both wrong, Slash should have let Axl work on the four songs, Duff
had some songs, and Axl even had some material. They should have asked
Izzy for some help as well.

* How do you feel about the new directions they followed after the
break-up, like Velvet Revolver, and Axl himself?

Sometimes things aren't meant to be. Now Axl has about 50 songs with
the new guys and have been touring all around the world. Velvet
Revolver now has 2 records out and are touring so they are all doing
well.

* There are some handwritten lyrics in the book, did you have them with
you all this time? Can you tell about them a little bit?

The handwritten lyrics came from 2 different songs; one is Slash's from
1983 and the other was lyrics that Axl gave to Michelle Young, the girl
that My Michelle was written about.

* What is the craziest thing you witnessed around GN?R at that time
(1985 vs) ?

The craziest thing i witnessed was probably a fight at a club called
Rajis on May 13th, 1986, it was the night they performed You're Crazy
for the first time. While GNR was on stage, a girl sprayed a beer on
Axl and he was getting shocked from the electrical equipment. Axl used
his mic stand to push her away. After the show, the girl's boyfriend
started swinging drum stands at Axl's head. Axl charged knocking him
down and kicking him in the ribs with his boots for about 30 seconds.
Then friends of both parties parted them. Someone could have easily
died that night.

* Do you think are there any new bands around, which have the kind of
attitude that GN?R had when they were formed?

No, GNR were the last band that you could identify all the members.
There was the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and then GNR. GNR
was sort of the last of the image bands. Also, GNR was making music for
themselves, not for radio play.
.
* Do you still see each other? How did your relationship with the band
evolve in years?

I am still close to Slash, Axl and Duff, and because of this book, I
now see Steven again. I have only talked to Izzy a few times since the
old days but it is always nice to see him. Slash has been one of my
best friends since 1976. i have always been close with Axl since i met
him. He has always called me for some advice or an opinion for
something he's working on. He flew my wife and I to Rio in 2001 to see
GNR play the Rock in Rio. He sometimes stops by my house to take me to
the studio to hear a new song that was recently recorded.

* Aything that you want to tell or add?

I'm really happy with how the book looks. Shoothip press did a great
job taking my layout and taking it to life. This is the first true
enhanced book and this is a special time for me right now. This book is
going to change the way books are published in the future.

Thanks Marc Canter. Please, visit www.recklessroad.com for more info about the book. Smiley

Sorry if someone else has said this already but since this guy is apparently so close to both Axl and Slash, maybe this is where Slash got his March 2006 date from.
