I think my Scrooge brother should host one this year. Does anybody here celebrate it?

It was made famous by Seinfeld, but apparently it was invented by somebody else.

Festivus is an annual holiday invented by Reader's Digest writer and editor Dan O'Keefe. It was introduced to popular culture by O'Keefe's son Daniel, a scriptwriter for the TV show Seinfeld, on December 18, 1997, in the episode "The Strike".

I do, but instead of a pole I hang a long piece of dental-floss from the ceiling.

I celebrate the solstice, but it sounds like fun. Is there much alcohol involved?

You would have to get a bit drunk to go ahead with the "Feats of Strength."
