Wow...I would say if I had to rank em...
1. Soundgarden
2. AIC
3. Pearl Jam
4. Nirvana
As for the albums
1. Dirt
2. Badmotorfinger
3. Ten
4. Nevermind (always thought In Utero blew nevermind away.)
While Pearl Jam has been so prolific at turning out always quality music, AIC and Soundgarden were on another level to them an Nirvana. And the range of Cornell's voice on Badmotorfinger is simply amazing. "Slaves & Bulldozers" is one of the greatest vocal performances of all time in my opinion. "Dirt" is one of the greatest albums of all time. From start to finish there is ntohing I can skip (sans Iron Gland which isn't a real song). Layne was terribly underrated as a vocalist.

I disagree.I thought nevermind kinda sucked apart from the songs that were released as singles.I've never saw what the fuss is about that album.
How many times have you listened to the album ? How can you think nevermind sucked when you liked the singles ? There where 4 singles, that a big potion of the album.
Anyway i would pick
Nirvana
Nevermind
But any of them album are awesome !

nevermind is ok, its the bands only good album anyway.
In Utero is trash.
Nirvana are the worst of the grunge bands.
The other ones are FAR better in every aspect.
Sadly not bigger.

Right sure In Utero is trash that why it been certified 5x platinum
Your the sort of GN'R fan that makes every other GN'R Fan cringe, Your opinion stinks because you show a lack of respect for other people music and you offer no reason why you hate In Utero apart from it "trash" which shows your a Moron.

Dude calm down he just doesn't like the album. Not everyone has to share your opinion. I don't like Nevermind that much either. In Utero is much better in my opinion but if he doesn't like either one it doesn't make me cringe.

You think Nirvanas a good band, that makes you stupid anyway and makes me cringe.
5X platinum? so Britney Spears, Spice Girls and all the pop bands etc which have had big sales such as that, they are brilliant now?
sure.
Nirvana are one of the most over-rated bands of all time. Kurt is only an icon because he is dead and how he died.
The albums trash because the band purposefully tried to make a shit album and it shows.

No i like NIRVANA

Ok there over-rated in your opinion, Kurt Cobain is an icon because he could write incredibly catchy songs that have a deep meaning and some people can relate to that.

Nirvana made a album that would only leave the fans that really liked the band and understood the message they were sending out, so you gotta give them credit because it worked with you.

sorry, but i like music with talent thanks.
You know, where the singer, even when wrecked off drugs can still sing.
Where the guitarists can play.
The only dude with talent that was in that band was Grohl, cause he is a good drummer. (i dont like the foo fighters may i add)

Let's keep the "moron" shit to PM's that's a no no around here.
Thanks.
As for on topic discussion..
1. Nirvana - Best song writer and best drummer of the generation (subjective opinion)..
2. AIC - Two words - Jerry Cantrell
3. PJ - Has stood the test of time, that speaks volumes about what they're all about.
4. Soundgarden - Never really dug them after Badmotorfinger.

Nope, never really got into it - always got the feeling they'd lost their edge with that one.
Just my opinion of course..

Guess that feeling hit me one record before, that's exactly how I felt about Superunknown.
I still cringe when I hear Black Hole Sun, or fall asleep - whichever comes first.

Seeing as Nevermind and In Utero have been mentioned, I'd like to say that Bleach is quite an underrated album. Some good stuff on there IMO.
