this is a project for GN'R related tv stuff (mostly Illusions Era) with known sources and transfer info.
quality from the clips differs but is good overall and beats most of the other SA compilation discs floating around.
more to come!!

Sources and Transfer:
TV -> various NTSC VHS (mostly masters and gen1s) -> JVC HRS-9800U S-VHS Deck with TBC/DNR -> AR Pro II Series S-Video Cable
-> Panasonic ES-10 (Pass through tbc/frame synchronizer, Line in NR turned ON, both in and output black levels set to darker)
-> AR Pro II Series S-Video Cable -> Audio wires from vcr -> Sony TR-740 Digital8 Camera (TBC/DNR Turned ON, used for temporal filtering)
-> firewire -> JVC DRM-100 DVD Recorder (SA XP LPCM + Audio dED [01-05] and SA SP [06-15]) -> DVDR
-> PC -> dED (cutting out commercials, NO re-encoding!)


Credit goes out to Mark for taping and providing the vhs tapes as well as Matt for the transfers!!!

Everything in here looks pretty good and it's always good to have known lineage.  Get it while you can !

This is another reminder of what once was, and what might have been...

The only downside for me personally were Farm Aid and Atlantic City, those are available in much better quality (although without lineage) elsewhere.

^^that has been part of the GN'R in Athens'93 special (MTV Europe GN'R weekend). they've broadcasted parts of jungle, dead horse and you aint the first (from Tel Aviv'93 with Izzy). wont be on the destructive illusions-compilations but should be on some other discs like:

VMA91 video quality not good but the LPCM audio is kicking.
YCBM video with LPCM stereo audio kills!!!
the rest IMO is nice/very nice in image, sometimes audio could be better (in stereo not mono, less hiss, more nice editing...but many things come from SA SP (= Digital Audio i left unedited as it is)). in general its hard to get totally MINT stereo sources and transfers....some of these vhs are about 20 years old! as for me i like those small tv reports a lot as they rarely have been on (re-)broadcast and the quality rocks!
