Would be so nice to meet you people.  Smiley Even thought I've been a fan for quite a while this is only my second GNR show.

I'm not from Helsinki, so anyone with better knowledge of local bars do make suggestions for a possible meeting place.

I think we should really decide something soon.. in my opinion the best way to get to the venue is by train (takes about 5min + little walking), not via Kallio. So how about meeting somewhere close to the city center? As I understand most of the GN'R-fans coming from other cities/countries are staying in hotels that are located there anyway.

On The Rocks is right next to the railway station and they got a nice terrace too (if it's a sunny day, it will be 150% full of people though).. but I don't know, I'll go with what you guys want to do Tongue But I know Helsinki very well and I've lived there for years so I'm just trying to get this thing going. Would be nice to see you guys Smiley


I was just looking at places closer to the venue since that is usually how we do it.

But if that's not a must, then obviously something close to the railway station is better.

I guess it makes more sense to have it at the center. We don't know how people are gonna get to the venue. Or where they're coming from.

It's easier to get to the railway station than anywhere else in Helsinki...

Anywhere near a landmark like the railway would be cool, make it easier for us foreigners to find it!

I'll be there (volcano disruption permitting!) from Wednesday till Sunday.

And as Jarmo said, the railway station is easy to find. And if you can't find it you can ask just about anybody for the direction. There are many bars/restaurants in the area, most notably On The Rocks, Tavastia, Bar Loose and Virgin Oil Co.

Supposedly the show ends early so how about an afterparty as well? I'm pondering being up front at the show and that might rule out pre-party Huh
Anyones guess how early one must be to get a decent view at the show?

Any gnr tribute acts or anything being organised by any bars etc in honour of their visit?

anyone have any knowledge of the kallio district? apparently has some cheaper bars than city centre... i'm there with friends all week so need advice on cheaper, but still relatively good bars! lol

On The Rocks works for me, I'm staying near there. Dunno what time I'll be heading to the festival.. Plane lands 11am-ish on saturday.. and I leave 8pm sunday..

Yeah but seriously, I'll probably be at On The Rocks on Friday evening/night and on Saturday before the gig. I don't know when I'll be heading to the venue, I guess it depends on other people Tongue And meeting after the show is also a great idea!

I'll probably go see Ron, check into the hotel and make my way to the bar and from there to the festival. Damn it's gonna be a busy day  hihi I think I'll be at the bar around 4ish..
