congrats to axl and the band to FINALLY starting playing "new" songs on tour!!

they should change the setlist every night , it would be fresh to them and to the audience in case anyone is following them on tour.

thats one of the main reasons i follow pearl jam on tour , every single setlist is different from night to night

The show in Argentina was a disaster. We couldn't hear Axl!!!!! I was very near. The sound of the mic was awful. Axl should give a free show now for us.

Don't was a disaster was GREAT and the sound problem was just the first part of the show not all.

PD: The sound problems was on all the SA tour in Montevideo was the same thing.

About the sound: was it only Axl's mic? It seems it was during half of the show, right? There were some sound problems too sometimes in 2006, especially in Lisbon. It depends on the venue I guess.

After listening to the youtube it is clear that only some people couldn't hear. The sound is fine on the video. that's too bad, but at a show like that Axl didn't dare stop it. Even for tech. problems. The whole venue would have rioted. I don't think they had any choice but to continue. They have to think of the safety of everyone above all else. Good job keeping it going Axl. And sorry to those of you that had to suffer.

It's actually pretty weird what happend with Axl's microphone and how his voice sounded during the show. For a good half of it, it was impossible to actually hear the guy, even when the band wasn't playing and he was just talking to the audience. It's really sad that so many people (at least around where I was standing) were pissed off and started yelling shit and throwing bottles, pieces of the plastic they used to cover the lawn, or whatever they could find. Luckily, most of these opbjects didn't hit the stage, but I'm not sure they didn't hit or hurt people in attendance.

I've been going to concerts for a good 15 years, and I've had good and bad experiences with stadium gigs, especially in regards to the sound. Bottom line, no drama, no bullshit, what happened was Axl's voice was too low in the mix for a large part of the show (and Ron's guitar was a bit over the mix for a while, to be honest).
On songs like "If The World", I could barely hear him.

Halfway through the show I found out someone had stolen my cellphone, so that added a bit of frustration to the experience. I pulled back a bit, and the more you walked away from the stage, the clearer Axl's voice sounded, which showed why the sound guy may have never realized that a lot of people couldn't hear him singing.

I have some mixed feelings about the show and all. I had a good time, for the most part, and you can bet your ass I had a huge smile on my face when the show started. It was probably during Mr. Brownstone that I started feeling like something was wrong.
Thinking about it, and comparing what I heard being close to the stage vs what I heard stepping away from it, there was clearly something wrong with the way the sound was coming out of the speakers. I don't know if it was a matter of volume, or simply EQ.

It was a good one, maybe not as good as I would've liked, but it's something I kinda owed to myself since 1993.

PS: Maybe I'm too old, or maybe I'm just pissed off, but this was the last time I'm attending a stadium concert in Buenos Aires. I can't stand how stupid some people act at these shows. Maybe it's time to go up there and sit with the older people Tongue

Sucks about the sound from what ive read.
BUT... don't blame it on Axl or demand free shows etc.  It wasnt his fault.
