Wow, third album in a row and not a mention of Velvet Revolver. I am not holding my breath or anything but is hard not having new music by Slash/Duff to listen to. Regardless of anything, their chemistry is something special.

Well they do have Kings Of Chaos now. It?s not the same but they played together. I don?t agree about Scott. It was not Scott?s band and project. Duff and Slash wanted a singer and they hired Scott. Before that they spent a lot of time looking for a singer. All they could find available that was worthy of their idea of a band was Scott.

Kings of Chaos is just a nostalgia act, pretty much like... well, you know... Roll Eyes

Actually, the name is the least important thing. As far as I read, Slash played in bigger venues in his latest tour compared to the Libertad tour, right?

They could simply change the name and it would not make any difference, commercially speaking. What I really want is them writting new music and playing together. Oh yeah, and getting Gilby on 2nd guitar wouldn't hurt, either. hihi

Velvet Revolver is clearly not high on their list of priorities.  Especially for Slash at least.
I'm sure he'll be spending the next 2 years releasing this album and touring it so there won't be anything happening with VR any time soon.

I'm excited for the next solo album though, his playing is much better on these albums.
Scott really limited what Slash could do with the guitar because he doesn't have a good range.

Excellent frontman all the same.

Slash and Izzy have been (by far) the most productive ex-Gunners in terms of putting out new albums.

Alter Bridge is on tour so it makes sense that Slash is working on the album. I guess lyrics can come later. I wonder when Myles gets any rest. He is one busy singer.

Nope, westcoast junkie is correct.....

Duff have put out more than Slash?

Duff has released two solo albums (including the ill-fated Beautiful Disease), at least two albums with Loaded, an album with Neurotic Outsiders, and two albums with Velvet Revolver.  So that's at least 7 that Duff has done.... did I miss any?

Slash has done two Snakepit records, two Velvet Revolver records, and two solo records so far.  That's 6.

So yeah, Duff is currently ahead of Slash in terms of quantity.  Izzy on the other hand, I lost count of how many solo albums he's done.  A lot though!

Just curious, why aren't you including the 'Nothing Left to Fear' soundtrack?

Touche!  I suppose I omitted it because, notwithstanding the title tune, it's a musical score rather than a rock album.  But let's count it!  That makes 7 for Slash.   ok

You are also forgetting his live album, Made in Stoke, plus the DVD of the same name, so that is at least 8 separate things. And that is not even counting all the "deluxe" albums from VR and solo which adds another 2-3 which may be counted as separate releases if one wanted to get technical.

And in addition, Slash has about 20-25 live shows from 2010-2011 that were professionally recorded and released by Abbey Road distributors, now named something else that I cannot remember. If anyone wants the URL I can probably track it down. They are still for sale.

2 Snakepit
2 VR
3 Solo CDs plus 1 DVD
1 Soundtrack
Countless professional live recordings not audience bootlegs

Do the math.

Even without the deluxe, I stand by my ability to count and to compose a factually correct sentence.

And we should count the two live DVDs released by VR, one from Houston 2004 and one from Germany 2008. They are available on Amazon.com. So add those to the list and it appears that Slash and bands with Slash have released even more than Izzy, which is really saying something.

Eh, live albums/DVDs shouldn't be counted in my opinion.  Studio albums only!  ok
