Of course he plays up to GNR fans, he is counting on them to buy his albums and go to his shows, that is a no-brainer.

He also manipulates people and starts controversy in the media, not such a cool quality, neither is talking crap about someone that has paid you well, given you exposure, and an opportunity to travel extensively.

Ingratitude isn't such a "stand-up" quality, imo.

Ron is the only honest outspoken member of that band. To be a new gnr member you have to, clam up and shut up. You have to adopt their politics.

This was expected.
It was obvious which fans would sympathize with him as soon as he made that kind of comments. Complain about GN'R in public, gee wonder who'll agree. Surprise, the mortismurphy brigade of course!

I don't agree that he's the only member who treats the fans with decency. I think that's bullshit. Just because Ron goes out of his way to invite fans to hotel lobbies and plays guitar for them doesn't mean the others don't like the fans or don't treat them with decency.

Your right.  However, those who have been around long enough (Stinson, Fortus, Dizzy,etc) and those fans who have been around long enough....know the answer.  It's not really weird that the people who ask these questions are relatively new to the party.  Those of us who have been around long enough however, know how it is....and have come to accept it.  Axl goes on stage later in the night (although earlier as of late), and he doesn't put out albums until he's satisfied.  This is the way that it is.  Pretty simple really.  What I don't understand are when these questions continue to come from people who have supposedly been around for a long time?  You, DX, and others.  Axl isn't going to change because YOU ask these questions or complain.

While true, I do not particularly understand how this absurd band operate, I never said anything about the enjoyment of music - especially the old records. Also, the usual HTGTH ''why are you here?'' line. I have barely posted in the last two weeks!

I DO NOT disagree with you about this. But, it was only unnecessary because he has not explained anything...just thinly veiled hints. If he just clarified... then there would be nothing dramatic about it.

It sounds like he is honoring a request not to comment on his status in the band, probably from management.  They may want to make the announcement.  Hopefully they say something, anything, soon.

But he also put up with it all this time.  I think he has to lose some legitimacy points for that part of it.  It obviously wasn't killing him.

Well... when does management make any kind of statement? Not a criticism.. just an observation. Sometimes just a brief statement from Axl that I have trouble reading... haha.
