How do we know there are only 13 songs on CD, maybe 15 and that would add some other tunes we haven't heard of??

the man himself said 13 tracks

Yeah, but hasn't the man himself said CD would be released years ago?

The fact is there is no public tracklist yet and speculation is fruitless. People have mentioned various things at various times...Axl included. I have no expectations at this point, none. I'll be happy with an album and am not going to quibble over songs on and songs left off. ok Let Fate handle it's own business.

I think it's funny how, till 2005, there were A LOT of rumoured tracklists just like this one.. Of course, it didn't have Better, Sorry or If The World.. hihi

nobody here knows anything about the tracklist, or which song is axl's 'ace in the hole'... give up dudes. I mean your all great n all but don't pretty like you know anything that is going on... you don't. Axl said it himself at hammerstein

Haha, indeed. Calling a song Axl's "ace in the hole" without having heard it or knowing anything about it beyond one or two quotes is just goofy.

I don't think Rhiad or Catcher in the rye will be on it.  But how do you know if This I Love won't be on it?  We don't even know if this is a real song or not, let alone whether or not it will be on the album...

One being This I Love will not be on the album.

Why is that ? Isn't it supposed to be Axl's masterpiece or something ?? Cry

from what i've read on Sp1at and elsewhere, i understand these are the songs that are a-listed for the album:

Chinese Democracy
I.R.S.
Better
Madagascar
The Blues
There Was A Time
Sorry
If The World...
Prostitute
The General
Seven
Leave Me Alone
This I Love

while songs like

Rhiad And The Bedouins
Catcher In The Rye
Thyme
Ides Of March
Atlas Shrugged
Quick Song
Zodiac

are now slated for the second album, to be released a year or so after the first...

but in the end, who knows? it's possible Axl has changed his mind again, and CD will now have 18 songs instead of 13.  ok

We may have already hear it.  It's probably long since been renamed.

I'm sorry, but this is a bunch of crap. I'm pretty sure we don't know yet all the titles of the tracklist. I've been always saying this... Before this year, no rumored tracklist had even Better or Sorry...

If the title reflects the song, we've definately not heard it.

The funny thing about this kind of shit is how as soon as we hear about new songs we never heard of, or like in the past a band member says a certain song will be on the album, one of these tracklists pops up.

If a fake tracklist had popped up 2 weeks ago, we know what 2 songs wouldnt have been on there. It would have been something like Thyme and Oklahoma instead.

James nailed this shit on the head.

Also, why does everyone act like songs like...

"Ides of March"     confirmed by Dave Dominguez / 2005
"Leave Me Alone"? ? ? ?confirmed by Marco Beltrami / 2002
"Oklahoma"    ? ? ? ? ?confirmed by Axl Rose / 2000
"Seven"    ? ? ? ? ? ? confirmed by Marco Beltrami / 2002
"The General"    ? ? ? ? ?confirmed by Marco Beltrami / 2002
"Thyme"    ? ? ? ? ? ?confirmed by Marco Beltrami / 2002

can't be on Chinese Democracy?

They were obviously from the Chinese Democracy sessions.. professionals actually worked on them.

wasn't the Oklahoma changed to CITR....

No, I believe it was changed to Rhiad. Cathcer was mentioned simultaniously with Oklahoma in the RS interview.

No, I believe it was changed to Rhiad. Cathcer was mentioned simultaniously with Oklahoma in the RS interview.

I dont believe that Rhiad is Oklahoma. It makes no sense. Look, Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and a bedouin is an Arab of any of the nomadic tribes of the Arabian, Syrian, Nubian, or Sahara deserts.

Now the description of Oklahoma goes like this, from Rolling Stone:

"Another song, called ''Oklahoma'' - heard tonight only as an instrumental - was inspired by a court date with ex-wife Erin Everly. ''I was sitting in my litigation with my ex-wife, and it was the day after the bombing,'' Rose remembers with a wince. ''We had a break, and I'm sitting with my attorneys with a sort of smile on my face, more like a nervous thing - it was like, 'Forgive me, people, I'm having trouble taking this seriously.' It's just ironic that we're sitting there and this person is spewing all kinds of things and 168 people just got killed. And this person I'm sitting there with, she don't care. Obliterating me is their goal.''

It just doesnt fit, I think that they are separate songs.

Yeah, I admit it doesn't really fit. I think it was some kind of rumor or what not a couple of years back, and it's been stuck in the back of my head since. Don't remember the details, but I believe there were some sort of sense behind it.

Yeah I read about that too. And ever since, people are like Rhiad is Oklahoma, and I'm like "No it doesnt make sense!!!"  confused

Someone posted a tracklist on the Rollingstone.com G N' R message board. If it is true, we have heard about 7 or 8 of the 13 new tracks...

The supposed tracklisting for the album:

1. Chinese Democracy
2. Prostitute
3. Better
4. The Blues
5. T.W.A.T (There Was A Time)
6. I.R.S.
7. If
8. Madagascar
9. Seven
10. This I Love
11. Rhiad and the Bedouins
12. Catcher In The Rye
13. Sorry

Even though it is a rumour, this appears to make sense.

Rhiad - Played a few times live, and appears to be rehearsed and ready to play live again in 2006.
CITR - Fortus mentioned it would be on CD.
Prostitute - The Big Gun.
Sorry - Bach heard the song. He mentioned it being on CD.
Seven - Mentioned by Beltrami (or was someone else?) as being one of the better songs he has heard.
This I Love - This one I'm not sure about. I know Axl had this song complete back in the 90's.
