There has been breaking news stories on Britney Spears pregnancy, Lindsey Lohan's mindset, Paris Hilton's lovelife, etc. A new GNR album will definitely be a breaking news story, or do you think britney's protruding belly or Lindsey Lohan's brain are more important than Chinese Democracy? hihi

James, we're all looking forward to that day.  Unfortunately, some news anchors will have their fun poking fun at Axl.  I'm actually looking forward to Conan's show when the album does hit.  His jokes are all in fun, and I think he's a closet fan.

On topic, you folks are right, CD will not need alot of time to make a big impact.  In fact, a wham-bam in your face 1 month should do the trick, as long as everyone hears about it in that time.  Gimme a radio-friendly single, an interview in Rolling Stone witha 5-star review, and a small tour announcement followed by the immediate release of my precious CD!   love

How long does it take to print and package copies of cd's for distribution?

I think only a couple weeks of promotion are needed, maybe release the single the same day it is announced so people know it is real.
