After hearing their original songs I think they should be playing bars. I can see why Axl kicked Gilby out of the band.

I think it's pathetic that these guys (well tommy lee has done it in the past (eg. Tommy Lee goes to college) would resort to reality TV to get them famous again and to help sell albums. but... i think that people ARE caught up in it and many fans of the show will still go see them preform live hopefully there will be at least one decent or cacthy song out of this whole thing.

I dont think Tommy needs the exposure ( he already gets that with Crue and his own personal life) However, Gilby and Jason can use any national exposure they can find.

ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, the band featuring Tommy Lee (M?TLEY CR?E), Jason Newsted (VOIVOD, ex-METALLICA) and Gilby Clarke (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) and vocalist Lukas Rossi, will play dates in Australia and New Zealand in March 2007.
The new quartet, which is currently in the studio finishing off its highly anticipated debut album with producer Butch Walker (AVRIL LAVIGNE, PINK, BOWLING FOR SOUP) will play shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand. Support will come from Toby Rand (a "Rock Star: Supernova" contestant) and his band JUKE KARTEL.
"Rock Star: Supernova" amassed huge ratings during its 11 weeks for Australian broadcaster Fox 8, becoming the highest rating general entertainment series ever on subscription television. The two-hour finale reached almost 600,000 viewers according to official OzTAM results.
Lukas Rossi, who joins the group after an exhaustive search spanning 25,000 entrants, 22 cities and six continents, describes his win as "the gig of a lifetime."
"That I'll be singing in a band with Tommy, Gilby and Jason ? guys that I've always respected ? is just surreal. Can't wait to get started."
"Lukas is the real deal," says Tommy Lee, who himself can't wait to get back to Australia where he has been a regular visitor in recent years. "Lukas proved that he's got the voice and swagger to front this band. He's gonna tear it up in the studio and then we're taking the show on the road. Wear a cup, kids."
ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA shot a video for the song "It's All Love" this past Wednesday (October 4) in Los Angeles.
ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA will release its debut album on November 21 via Epic Records. The band will launch a 28-city North American tour with THE PANIC CHANNEL (which features the show's co-host Dave Navarro) in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve.
ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA Australian tour dates:
Mar. 15 - Melbourne - Vodafone Arena
Mar. 16 - Sydney - Hordern Pavilion
Mar. 17 - Brisbane - River Stage

I firmly believe Lukas sucks. He mangles the songs. Toby and Magni were the shit on the male front.

I wanted Toby or Magni for sure, but after a few listens, Lukas actually sounds pretty good on the album cuts.

Well no shit man! How can you not sound good in the studio with modern technology. When they played those songs on the show they were bad and the "Be Yourself and 5 Other Cliches" was AMAZINGLY bad. Even though it wasn't that great when a good singer sung it, still. I actually laughed when I heard it.

Magni and Storm Large, two finalists in the top 5 on the CBS reality show "Rockstar: Supernova," have been essentially fired from the opening act on the upcoming Rockstar Supernova tour.
This is just the latest controversy to besiege Tommy Lee's new band, Rockstar Supernova, since the reality show wrapped production last month.
First a California punk band claimed rights to the name Supernova and sought an injunction to halt the television act from performing or recording under the "Supernova" brand, unless they changed or added words to the name. A San Diego judge ruled in favor of the punk band and forced the CBS backed group to find a new moniker. For once Davey trumped Goliath!
Tommy Lee and the rest of the band, including the show's winner Lukas Rossi, changed the name to Rockstar Supernova.
With a tour scheduled to begin on New Year's Eve in Vegas, the bill's opening act was to include The Panic Channel, host Dave Navarro's latest band, as well as, fellow contestants Toby Rand, Dilana, Magni, Storm Large and the program's House Band.
But now TMZ has learned that due to financial reasons Magni, Storm Large and the House Band have been kicked off the tour. Toby and Dilana are still on board (thank God!), but will now be backed by Toby Rand's Australian group Juke Kartel. Evs!
Though this is sure to be a blow to Storm Large and Magni, who is already a bona fide sensation in his native Iceland, the real question is how fans will react to the news.
And while Magni and Storm will be sorely missed, we're still hoping they add the ever unpredictable and fabulous Zayra Alvarez to the bill.
A call to Rockstar Supernova's record label was not immediately returned.

As they gear up for the November 21 release of their highly anticipated Epic debut and the New Year's Eve launch of their much-buzzed-about national tour, ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA have suffered a major setback with the loss of all-star bassist Jason Newsted.
The former METALLICA member is scheduled for immediate surgery to repair a torn anterior labrum in his left shoulder and a rotator cuff and bicep tear in the right. Newsted suffered the injuries while trying to catch a 90-pound bass head that had fallen from atop his amp. The surgery will be followed by a lengthy rehab assignment that could leave him sidelined for up to nine months.
"I'm freaking out," says Newsted, "My heart was set on finally getting on the road with these guys, but my main focus now is to build myself back to 100%. The stage is set for the band, I wish them the best of luck."
The band ? rounded out by vocalist Lukas Rossi, drummer Tommy Lee (M?TLEY CR?E) and guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) ? is currently searching for a suitable replacement to handle touring duties while Newsted recovers.
"When we started this project, I was handed a list of names ? guys who could potentially anchor our rhythm section," says Lee. "I responded by crumpling up the paper and asking, 'Where's Newsted?' Jason was always the right guy for this band and we'll miss having him with us as we kick off our album and tour, but we know he'll be back as soon as he can pick up and play. As for who will handle bass duties until then, we've got a few monster guys in mind, any one of which can hit the ground running. Stay tuned."

The Newstead injury is suspicious.. I think there's something more than that behind the scenes. He always seemed too serious & didn't really seem to fit in with Tommy & Navarro, almost like they got annoyed by him.
