I just called the Palace and confirmed that EOD is off the bill. They say some band called "Nova Rock" or something is playing first, then Suicide, then Bach, then ofcourse GNR!

It makes sense, I think, for the simple reason he does a pretty good job of keeping the crowd pumped.

to refresh everyones memory, the last time they played at the palace Axl walked off stage after patience.....so this should be the first time the new band plays NT and PC to detroit (assuming they play both yes)

I think they were scheduled to play tonight, but after what happened LAST night, they made some last minute changes.  So, yes the preprinted bills probably have EODM on them lol

WRIF is a radio station? I might take the venue's word over that. No matter. Only opening acts.

I'm going to assume that horrid crowd response cost them their spot. I mean, you look at the other bands - Papa Roach, Die Mannequin, The Trews, Suicide Girls, Bach - people have all been fairly positive. They're not to everyone's liking, but they didn't get booed offstage, in fact a lot of people enjoyed em. Feel sorry for EODM but... if the crowd hates you, what's the point of having you?

I wonder how that works with opening bands?

Do they sign a contract guaranteeing they play certain dates or is it a concert by concert basis?

If they signed a contract I guess Axl wouldve had to buy it out?Huh??

I always wondered how they did the whole opening act thing.

Damn it I did it again. I accidentally posted in the UPDATE.

My fault............. Embarrassed Embarrassed

Didn't Axl do a radio interview with WRIF in 2002?

Found it:

I think it would be cool if Axl picked a local band from each city to open, at least then the crowd could appreciate the band being local and maybe give them some hometown love.
'

GNR fans are very loyal to GNR and i dont know anyone they are gonna really love except Bach. maybe Buckcherry but u never know.

I wonder if Axl will have Kid Rock join him on stage since its in Detroit?

What if Eminem came out and guessed on a song

That would be AWESOME!
