This thread is for fun while waiting for some real news on CD.

I'll start with the thread about GNR playing at Coyotes Bar in Atlanta in 2005.? This rumor was so incredibly dumb that it reached over 40 pages at other boards.? Some poster even said he saw GNR tour buses at Coyotes and even after management denied it, people still said it would happen. rofl

Let's see...

Someone photoshopping Chinese Democracy on iTunes.  That looked so real!

The rumor about GN'R being at some Virgin Megastore doing an autograph signing on the day of the release of the album.  I think someone even made a fake flyer telling employees to be quiet.

Someone claiming to see Chinese Democracy in Walmart.  Even took a "picture" of the album cover.

I think the guy who photoshopped a printscreen of gnr.com was very funny! Everyone laughed at the bad photoshopping and the guy still tried to convince everyone it was true.

Then I also think it was funny when a new guy on the forum posted that a guy in his town who owned a cd-store had told him that it were going to be released a week later and everyone at this forum said "Come on, stop writing this shit, we know its not true" and the guy said "Ok you will see next tuesday". After that I dont think we have heard from the guy Smiley

My all time personal favorite:

This fat kid met Axl in a bar and somehow ended up outside the bar with Axl and at Axl's car. Axl let the fat kid listen to Chinese democracy but yet the fat kid couldnt remember one single lyric.

People Fuckin actually believed that shit.

Scary!

The one off the top of my head would be Axl and Pink doing a cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart". hihi

There are quite a few others, "My Favorite Pillow" comes to mind as well.

I remember one too but it was actually a scam.

It was a concert overseas at an airport hangar or something and they even went as far as selling illegal tickets and such. no

But due to some dilligent people on here, GNR management were notified of the scam and it was busted.

Trying to find the thread/link on it.

Danny and his magical fax machine where top secret gn'r documents often would appear.

All the guys that 'had' the album but never knew how to upload it.

Checking the source code of gnr.com to see if there were any updates in the pipeline.

That Axl had decided to quit the music business and become a munk.

Gnfr.com riddle site  probably holds the title for most dumb.

People believed that any updates with GNR would happen when this site updated rofl

A few years back people were saying that Axl was in the studio recording, and Shaq was in the room next door doing a rap album.  Shaq then came in with Axl and did a rap for CD

That's my favorite.  Still waiting on the Doll Parton/Axl duet.

The email I sent out with the song lyrics was pretty funny (and insanely simple).  It also got me banned from here for a while and almost got me fired from my job.

First one that comes to mind was people thinking Slash was the "surprise" guitarist for the 2006 shows.  Never did understand the logic/reasoning behind that one.  But of course the rumor probably originated from the same group of people who can't begin to imagine or fathom how the recent Robin pic could possibly ever remind anyone of Slash.

Go figure.
