Yeah that definitely makes sense.  He's a pretty deep guy...

Either meaning...I love it...and it makes total sense...

One of the things I LOVE about Axl's lyrics:  Very often, they can be meaningful in very different ways to very different people.  You can take completely different things away from his song based on what you bring INTO the song.

THAT'S art, IMHO.

Either way it's a perfect end to the record, it gives you time to reflect on everything that just happened in the last 70 minutes or so.

Nicely Put!

Very Dramtic and Real!

It's like putting all the years we've waited for into an hour that will last for many years to come.

In the context of the whole album and the musical, lyrical, and emotional journey it takes you on, this is my favourite track.

To be honest, I don't much care for this track really. it didn't live up to the hype when I initially listened to it.

To me this is one of the best songs along with Sorry. The end is just fantastic it reminds me of that quietness out on the ocean after a strong storm. This album is too good.

The part when Axl starts screaming ...ask yourself .....  is my favorite part of the song, almost like the culmination of all the emotion

I absolutely love this song.  love  From the moment I heard it I knew it would be one of my favorite GNR songs ever. I can feel the emotion through his voice and the music and that to me is what music is and should be all about. 15/10  ok

This is a great song with a spectacular final two minutes.

When I hear the ending, I think of dark clouds in the sky, but with a ray of light breaking through--as if Axl is saying no matter how tough things get, there's always hope.

My favorite song so far, but I've only heard the final version once up to this point.

I love this song for many different reasons. It's easy for me to relate to, as it seems to embody a manic depressive thought process. Moments of clarity and ease, snuffed out with fits of rage and adrenaline. It seems to loiter along the cusp of insanity, without going all in. Finally it wraps up nicely with what appears to be a self realization of tranquility and peace.

It's a great song.  There couldn't be a more perfect ending to the album than the final words, combined with Bucket's last solo and the orchestral outro

This is the perfect closer in combination with This I Love.

Together, they nicely bring the strong relationship thread of the album to a close. This I Love is about never saying goodbye to someone you love. Overtly, it doesn't seem conducive to the idea of getting over someone, but I believe it is a goodbye of sorts. Loving someone that much, you never really get over it; you just learn to live with it.

The reason I talk about This I Love is that it really puts Prostitute into perspective for me. For the first time on the album, he's really seeing the relationship for what it was. Now that he's made his peace in This I Love, he can finally look at her objectively, and all he sees is a bitch who used him. Then it ends with him finding peace within himself.

Such a great song, and a great way to close the album.

5/5.

"Prostitute" and "This I Love" are insta-classics that go on any subsequent GN'R Greatest Hits package right next to "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "November Rain". A phenomenal song.

This song has looooooooooooong been rumored to be about Stephanie. I think Axl's damning her for having turned away from the challenge of a passionate and loving relationship in exchange for her "easy money" non-loving non-passionate relationship with Peter Brandt. She crippled something beautiful for $$$ and some sort of perverse false "security". A life w/o passion is a life w/o meaning and not well-lived. Axl's in pain for what she put him through... but she's ultimately in worse pain for the path she chose for herself. Something along those lines anwyay...

Cool to hear everyone's different interpretations. ok
