Maybe the promoter didnt keep their side of the deal, or there was no deal at all, just wishful thinking from the promoter's side...

OR a scam...

Now, a friend of mine is telling me she knew about ''the cancelation'' yesterday.. on an online article saying Axl insulted a bunch of people and how the shows in Lima, Mexico (wtf?) and Santiago where all canceled. The article is obviously bullshit. But I wonder if it didnt come from an angry promoter...

I dont know. Its sad though I really wanted to see them in Costa Rica, I guess Ill go to Ecuador.

Who knows, maybe there was an agreement "in principle" and the promoters thinking that it was in the bag then decided to promote this thing early and cash in. If there was no official contract signed by both parties or by GNR then this is where we are at now. Business is business and we are dealing with a lot of money here. We have already had promoters putting Janes and GNR on the same bill in SA only for that to be changed. I am sure Axl had good reason to do what he has done. Frustrating for the fans but more frustrating for Axl I think. Anyways we have SA to look forward to and Europe I assume to.

The plot thickens !!!!!!!

http://www.nacion.com/2010-03-01/Entretenimiento/UltimaHora/Entretenimiento2285835.aspx

Translation of most important bits:

"

FIrst, they link to gnr's facebook, and axl's message (which is the same as the twitter)

"Uncertainty has clouded the presentation announced this past friday by 28 producciones concerning the presence of the band on april the 7th at the Saprissa Stadium.

However,  Juan Carlos Campos, who works for said company, has reassured Viva (entertainment section of La Naci?n) that the concert will indeed take place and he's been very surpised by the message on Facebook."

According to Campos, the message could be an old message, because of the rumours on the possible dates for Costa Rica, Panama and Guatemala.

The producer further claimed:
?IF you read, the message says that the concerts announced before February 25 will not be honored, and we made the announcement on the 26, I can thus confirm that the concert is still on"

He informed us, that he will have a conference call with the producers of the band, urging them to put the Costa Rica date on the official site as soon as possible, as agreed the past friday.
The producer has assured that no tickets will be available for sale until the date in COsta Rica is shown on the official site. "

I'm not sure who is right in the story, not blaming Axl, the band or produces, but the only ones who's really looses with this are the fans.
