im goin tonight at 7:30 to watch Friday night lights, ive been wanting to watch this for a long time now.

yeah Timothy Johnny Depp always gets overlooked, it pisses me off how Russell Crowe and people like that get oscar nods for anything but Johnny Depp who actually takes chances and goes the unconventional way in Hollywood doesnt get any nods hardly.

he fuckin lost to bill murray in the comedy category at the golden globes and lost in translation wasnt even a comedy.

One of my favourite Jonny Depp roles was in 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico'.  The film wasn't that special, but Depp just completely stole the whole thing.  The guy oozes charisma. smoking

i agree, when he is on screen that movie is awesome, the rest of it is just ok, but thats why i love johnny depp, he makes bad movies good, good movies great and great movies classic, i dont know any other actor that can really carry a movie as well as he does.

Don't worry D, Finding Neverland easily finds it way onto a list of his best performances.  Smiley

...And I'll admit, I found the film really emotional.

But, lets continue, three posts on the same film can't be good for you.

Today, I saw a film called Twilight Samurai. Very good film, but, again, not at all what a lot of you would expect from a Samurai film...

Being that there is actually very little actual fighting in the film.

...Again I recommend it, although not if you're too lazy to read subtitles.  Tongue

Most recently...
Lost In Translation (Director: Sofia Coppola, with Bill Murray) - 9/10, one of the best films of the past 5 years, takes some time to appreciate it though, don't expect a comedy here, this is deep stuff, very very good

I just saw it too. And yeah, it's really, really great. First "man and woman meet and fall in love" -flick that has a right to exist. You actually give a shit during this movie. A rare thing, that.
Usually love-drama-horseshit - flicks are badly written fairytales that just try to make you cry and always fail.
Murray and the chick feel suprisingly real.. during the entire movie my brain kept going "hmm..this must have really happened."
Great ending too.

Sofia Coppola is absolutely da bitch when it comes to putting together moody and beautiful piano-driven soundtracks. I discovered Air(the band) thanks to her.
