Sorry.....my comments aren't appreciated, so I won't say who told me that the songs were great.

Just because people are not negative like yourself and share your viewpoint and happen to have faith and believe in a band that you love to see as
"non-existant"
why does it bother you?
That's fucking funny TIPSY, cuz your own posts seem to share Booker's skeptical point of view about this band. Here's some of your faith in newGNR:
Quote
Dude, CD isn't out because CD doesn't exist.
Face the facts D. GNR are
non existant
. Axl isn't perfecting jack shit. He has no product to perfect. Yeah, it sucks donkey balls. But Axl backed himself into a hole. He can't crawl out of it either and it's a shame.

Booker can be er, abrasive, but he said:
Quote
When things in GNR stop sucking, Ill be thrilled. But until then, as a fan of the original Guns N' Roses (the real reason everybody is here), and a hopeful fan of the new GNR, Ill call it as I see it.
Pretty much everybody on this board has been doing exactly that, including yourself.

Be realistic about it. All of the band members contributed to the GH songs that are on that new release. Sooooooo do you think it fair that they don't get a damn cent for it??
No, but that's irrelevant.
Quote
And if you were involved in it, would you be happy to put your John Hancock on it knowing that?
I still say it's irrelevant. You're saying that Dizzy wouldn't sign a GNR-related item because he didn't make money off of it. I mean for crying out loud, asking him to sign the GH record isn't exactly the same thing as asking Paris Hilton to sign the bootleg porn video she's in.
Quote
If Dizzy did in deed say that about Slashes Snakepit Album, he must have had a reason.
Hmmm, Dizzy not autographing something that he worked on with Slash and several other former GNR members. I wonder what that reason might be?
Quote
So he would sign any paper you handed him, even the paper you wish to wipe your sweet ass on.
Really? Would he sign it
after
I wiped too?
(That was a joke, flamers. A shame I have to clarify that, but I do so to avoid the obligatory flaming.)

But until then, as a fan of the original Guns N' Roses (the real reason everybody is here), and a hopeful fan of the new GNR, Ill call it as I see it. And if that hurts some of your feelings, or shatters some of your illusions, then Im sorry.
You should never have to apologize for that reason Booker. People such as you and I give this board balance. Otherwise, it would have long been an Axl-worshipping shrine. Neither you or I expects Axl's apostles to apologize for defending him so rabidly (nor would they), so don't do the same yourself.
And to everyone else, read my post about being a fan. Some of you need to get it through your heads that you
can
offer due criticism of your idols and still be a
fan
.

I didnt realize it took soo much time to use the quote function efficiently?
I could add some more sarcasm to your statement, but I think I'll refrain this time since Dave didn't say anything directly to my offense.
Quote
And in the tradition of this boards fairness, someone responds to my sarcastic but generally uninsulting posts with "Fuck you Booger" and everybody cheers...Insults are okay, as long as they're directed toward the "bad guy".
True, and that serves as another reason why you shouldn't apologize.

I may be negative in my posts but I don't entice a poster like Booker does just because they don't share my viewpoint. With my statements, I was speaking collectively. I don't go in and purposely pick apart the statements made by posters and quote them back as I don't care if people don't share my view point. And I certainly don't let it get to me enough to be condescending
So before you go frothing at the mouth, read Booker's posts again and then mine.

Funny how Booker needs to leave people alone who are simply stating their opinion, but when Booker simply states
his
opinion, he gets flamed with profanity-laden insults and is told to leave the site.

Well, I read your post, and here I go frothing at the mouth. I pick people's posts apart line by line because I address statements that I feel are worth addressing and discussing. It isn't a matter of "caring" whether or not someone shares my viewpoint. It's a matter of bringing more than one opinion to the table when a subject is being rationally discussed. I don't know if you realize this, but when an actual discussion is taking place, "collective" (as you put it) statements go out the window. Nobody sits down and speaks collectively when they're having a discussion, they address and debate any individual statements worth the time. And obviously, discussions here are worth all of our time because otherwise we wouldn't be here.
There, my "frothing at the mouth" is complete.

The only problem I've got with Booker is the way he states his opinion. Not his actual opinion...simply how he goes about it. He often comes off as ridiculing and being obnoxious. I don't care if he states his opinion...I'm sure most don't...but when he does it in such a way that it's clearly intended to infuriate others....then that I have a problem with.
It simply promotes others into flaming him...then that's all the thread becomes...one big flame war....just like this one has..

I don't feel anything I said was stupid! It was just something you didn't want to hear. I guess I don't know what is a true fan so to speak. I just know that I was told the songs on Chinese Democracy were great. So I'll leave it at that. If all of you have nothing better to do then talk negative about GN'R, then I feel sorry for you. Get on with your life and stop whinning about when is GN'R going to get back in action and come out with CD.
Your responses in this thread are completely out of whack with reality. This is a prime example.
You see, nobody is grinding their life to a halt over this band. The world does not revolve around GNR. It didn't when they were actually a popular R&R group, and it most certainly doesn't now. So please, stop with the over-dramatization, ok?

Booker you really need to learn something.
And i know its hard but I know you can do it.
Its called RESPECT.
Respect is a two way street. Seeing that Aunt Ger has shown none for Booker, I see no reason why he should have a whole lot for her.
Quote
I really think its sad that Aunt G and Lisa come to the boards as fans, and also try and answer some of our questions and give us a little insight on what is going on since the band has not given any in a while.
I think blatant brown-nosing is even sadder.
Quote
Im so sick of some of you ungreatful whiney so called fans.
If you dont want to hear what they have to tell us then dont read the damn post but stop it with all the petty insults and wise ass remarks, its getting old.
Shouldn't this be directed at Aunt Ger, as she is the one who insulted Booker. Not vice versa.
Quote
Now get over it and if you dont have anything to add to the convo without bashing or insulting someone, dont do it.
It's just so sad that someone would have a negative thing to say about GNR, considering everything they've been doing right lately, isn't it? I really feel for you, man

I hope we're done with the "poor Booker / Booker the asshole" thing for now.
Obviously by posting what he did he knew he might get attacked. Same thing when you post negative comments about Steven in the Ex-Gunners section. Right Dizzy?

After reading this entire 9 page thread...
It seems like Dizzy and Booker are the 2 who I agree with the most. as a 17 year Guns N' Roses fan-i find it absolutely rediculous that the GNR camp cant even give us a simple update saying they still have a guitarist, or saying the album is in pre-production/post-production/nowhere near complete, or even tell us if they're going to show up in Lisbon.
I have bought, and will buy any record GNR releases. I WILL NOT buy the Greatest Hits album, because I dont need an album with 14 songs that I already own. I also think Axl Rose is a lunatic. I camped out for 40 hours to get front row tickets to the Chinese Democracy Tour, and I was one of the lucky few who actually got to see a show.
Seriously, what the hell has that man done for us in 10 years?? We paid for his house, we paid for his drug addictions, we paid for his legal trouble, we paid for his cars, his assistants, yet what has he done for US in the last ten years??
Dont get me wrong, I feel Axl is one of the greatest songwriters and frontmen to ever live, but the guy is a fucking jackass. I dont even think HE understands whats going on inside his head on a daily basis.
I support everything Guns N' Roses does, as long as its positive. But whats so positive about a cancelled tour, continued delays and excuses-or lack of excuses-as to why the album isnt out, and not even addressing whether or not you still have a guitarist in the band? You have MANAGEMENT. Its not like Axl has to go out and make these press releases himself, thats his Manager's job.
Needless to say, even though I absolutely cannot stand Scott Weiland- I'm way more excited about Velvet Revolver than Guns N' Roses these days. This is mainly because I've come to the point where I dont even think Chinese Democracy will ever see the light of day until Axl Rose is dead and buried. And only then if we're lucky.
At least with VR we get new music from key members of GNR. I just wish their singer didnt completely suck.
