Girl recalling her NYC trip:

oh yeah and we saw the hard rock cafe opening and thursday was there and i was in the crowd going "OMG ITS THURSDAY!" and everyone was like WTF cuz they didn't know who they were. FATA was there too? oh and i saw axl rose, he came in an SUV with motorcycle police escort. we also saw janice dickenson, a model, and les paul, i think? and other celebs. we also hit up st. mark's street, bryant park and rockerfeller center. amazing weekend with my love<3and sister!!

Quote
Hard Rock Cafe New York celebrated its Grand Opening in Times Square with a concert by supergroup Velvet Revolver, memorabilia donations by Reverend Run and Darryl of Run DMC, and also featured special appearances by celebrities ranging from Les Paul, Elvis Costello, Steven Van Zandt and Ace Frehley to Mike Piazza and David Wright of the New York Mets and fashion icon Richie Rich. The event, held on Saturday, September 17, raised $100,000 for Peace Games, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the trend of violence in the U.S. by teaching children to become peacemakers in their communities.

So did Axl attend this event (with Velvet Revolver there to boot), or was this girl mistaking someone else for Axl?

It seems like the type of crowd Axl would fit in with.

I must admit life is trite but that's all right

haha yeah I think this is a mistake.  Any person who likes emo fag bands like Thursday and From Autumn to Ashes would not be able to point out Axl Rose (sorry, I just hate emo musicians too much).  I bet her boyfriend saw Slash from GNR and she had no idea who it was and she just assumes it was Axl Rose.

I was thinking perhaps she saw the guys from GNR and assumed Scott was Axl by association.

Yawn. I think it's a lil bit petty to bash VR to be honest man. Ridiculous band? Dude , they are the core of GNR , without them , slash - duff and matt , we probably wouldnt even be here talking on a GNR msg board.

Maybe if axl showed up at a VR show slash would have him kicked out , like axl's people did to slash.

btw , how exactly would axl destroy the cheap circus?  Tongue

and peace , gunner.  peace

At least can you show a fucking respect for Axl please?? ?rant

?it's not a VR forum, here we're real gnr fans who know that Axl isn't a stupid boy to be kicked out by Slash, remember that Axl wasn't afraid to hit a police man right his fucking face in St Louis '91 so Axl can bash Slash 'till he bleeds if that British guy tries to hurt Axl someday, Axl would destroy that cheap circus called V.R if he appeared on stage while they're playing there so axl would strike Scott right his balls while a lot of fans get nuts to burn the fucking place!

Its a fine line between bravery and stupidity.  I'm a big fan of Axl, but I don't believe that incident was one of his finer moments.

On topic, I think the most likely explanation has already been stated, that this girl confused someone else for Axl.  Has anyone found media pics of this event?  They are bound to be out there somewhere.

Wow, spoken like a true Axl fan. Too bad none of Axl's 'fans' have grown up.  Tongue

jesus christ is this guy serious?  Just to further make you look like an idiot, Sid Vicious would dive face first into broken glass on stage and shoot heroin, but he still got his ass beat repeatedly and if he were alive today I feel I would destroy him sober or not.

The girl most likely made a mistake... it wasn't axl.

you gotta learn something: when you're a celebrity n' you make a big scandal so it's gonna make you famous more than ever no matter if you get arrested or something, Axl will be remembered always like a great hero cuz he was very brave to hit the low in the face n' stop a concert in front of the press, might everyone do something like that? : NO!!! so axl does rule, guys!

i know Axl wasn't at that stupid event!, he doesn't spend his time this way! ?no

I don't think he can sit down, let alone go to a club when your head is constantly up his ass.

What about your respect for Velvet Revolver and 3 people who were once part of GnR.  It wasn't all about Axl, you know.

What language is your native tongue? Surely it's not English.  "when your'e a celebrity n' you make a big scandal so it's gonna make you famous more than ever no matter if you get arrested or something..." Huh?  Axl would probably be disappointed to learn his biggest fan (after DaveGnfnr2k12) is illiterate.

I very much doubt Axl would have a police escort.

Here in Modesto, CA Axl was spotted at a Mcdonald's Drive Thru(with police escort), and ordered a Big Mac, 2 large fries, an apple pie, and a Diet Coke. When asked when CD would come out, he said he would release it if Mcdonalds would bring back the McDLT. hihi
