I think if you want to see/hear what Robin is like rent or buy the NIN video Closure from 1997 or All that could have been from the fragile tour. In both videos he is so awesome in the live setting... i remember when i heard he was replacing Slash (and Slashs' stand still guitar wanking) i was so excited, he brings so much to the table live, and I also really like his creative vantage point.
