Seemed like forever and a day.

^ This line appears in the new short story by Del James, Do Sunflowers Have a Fragrance?.
Coincidence??  I THINK NOT!!! headbanger

THIS IS JUST SPECULATION ON MY PART ... NO SPOILER
If the character in Prostitute is really the other character in Sunflowers, then the Prostitute character needs to read Del's story.  And Prostitute better do it soon cause it's a "short story" so that ending comes quick!!! hihi

This happens to be my fav song on CD.  It's funny how Axl seems to write songs that can mean different things to different people. (minus the fortune and fame part for me..lol)  I can relate to this on some levels.  Without divulging to much info, basically my family and how things have made us Estanged and the lyrical content, a great song and great finish to an album.

I agree, this song is an amazing closing song on Chinese Democracy. I think almost everyone can relate to the lyrics also, because that's Axls gift for songwriting.

I have noticed alot in this song that when I listen to it, it seems like I'm in a daydream just hypnotized by the lyrics.

Definately a special song.   Wink

Hum thats how I feel about Prostitute it just seems to be something everyone can relate to in one way or another.

If this song was (as people speculated mainly the haters) Axl's goodbye to the life in the music biz I would at least be glad that the last song on the CD was like this.

The last night I was hearing some  music and after a while Prostitute came to my mind. I looked for CD and put the last track and then just remembered how great this song is... In some ways it reminds me to Stranged, the overall feeling you know...

A trully fine piece of Art.  I am sure its classic for the years to come for all gunners.

In this song, the little effects and guitar melodys add alot to the overall product. My favourite little guitar melody in the song is near the start when Axl sings " I won't ask of you, what I would not do ", that little guitar riff that comes in to match the vocals is gold.

Also I will say this again, but this song always gets me into a dream like state. I'm sure other people know what I mean, but I have to listen to it in complete silence and love the words and melody.

It kind of hypnotizes you.  Cheesy

Absolutly agree! But you forgot to mention the amazing drum work on the song. And yes, I know what you mean with the "dream state" thing.

The way it is sung reminds me a lot of the intensity of SCOM -  intense with a certain kind of beauty to it

Probably because it's a hard song for Axl do it live, they just played it in Osaka & Tokyo '09, i think it's the same situation of TWAT (maybe CITR too) even Axl tweet about it.

I was able to order this book on amazon. It was a great story. The ending was not what I expected. Maybe we'll see another Epic GNR video inspired by an Axl/Del collab.
