The time of teaching the world how a crowd should be and should act in a rock concert has just come.

Expect a frenzy. A battle camp. Impressed by Uruguay, Brazil, Chile...? you just have not seen anything.

why why WHY do people do things like this???  People who do things like this will make it so GNR will think twice before going back there :(  And that sucks for the other fans!

Its people who are trying to get in with either fake or no ticket at all.. it really blows

Man, I love the enthusiasm of the South American crowds.  They're full of energy.  BUT, there seem to be a fair amount of idiots throwing shit onto the stage at multiple shows, and that is not cool.

I guess when you play for huge crowds like that though, you're gonna get a few assholes in the crowd.  It's bound to happen.  Just hope they don't ruin it for the true fans who showed up to have a great time and to rock out!

congrats to axl and the band to FINALLY starting playing "new" songs on tour!!

they should change the setlist every night , it would be fresh to them and to the audience in case anyone is following them on tour.

thats one of the main reasons i follow pearl jam on tour , every single setlist is different from night to night

The show in Argentina was a disaster. We couldn't hear Axl!!!!! I was very near. The sound of the mic was awful. Axl should give a free show now for us.

Don't was a disaster was GREAT and the sound problem was just the first part of the show not all.

PD: The sound problems was on all the SA tour in Montevideo was the same thing.

About the sound: was it only Axl's mic? It seems it was during half of the show, right? There were some sound problems too sometimes in 2006, especially in Lisbon. It depends on the venue I guess.

After listening to the youtube it is clear that only some people couldn't hear. The sound is fine on the video. that's too bad, but at a show like that Axl didn't dare stop it. Even for tech. problems. The whole venue would have rioted. I don't think they had any choice but to continue. They have to think of the safety of everyone above all else. Good job keeping it going Axl. And sorry to those of you that had to suffer.

It's actually pretty weird what happend with Axl's microphone and how his voice sounded during the show. For a good half of it, it was impossible to actually hear the guy, even when the band wasn't playing and he was just talking to the audience. It's really sad that so many people (at least around where I was standing) were pissed off and started yelling shit and throwing bottles, pieces of the plastic they used to cover the lawn, or whatever they could find. Luckily, most of these opbjects didn't hit the stage, but I'm not sure they didn't hit or hurt people in attendance.

I've been going to concerts for a good 15 years, and I've had good and bad experiences with stadium gigs, especially in regards to the sound. Bottom line, no drama, no bullshit, what happened was Axl's voice was too low in the mix for a large part of the show (and Ron's guitar was a bit over the mix for a while, to be honest).
On songs like "If The World", I could barely hear him.

Halfway through the show I found out someone had stolen my cellphone, so that added a bit of frustration to the experience. I pulled back a bit, and the more you walked away from the stage, the clearer Axl's voice sounded, which showed why the sound guy may have never realized that a lot of people couldn't hear him singing.

I have some mixed feelings about the show and all. I had a good time, for the most part, and you can bet your ass I had a huge smile on my face when the show started. It was probably during Mr. Brownstone that I started feeling like something was wrong.
Thinking about it, and comparing what I heard being close to the stage vs what I heard stepping away from it, there was clearly something wrong with the way the sound was coming out of the speakers. I don't know if it was a matter of volume, or simply EQ.

It was a good one, maybe not as good as I would've liked, but it's something I kinda owed to myself since 1993.

PS: Maybe I'm too old, or maybe I'm just pissed off, but this was the last time I'm attending a stadium concert in Buenos Aires. I can't stand how stupid some people act at these shows. Maybe it's time to go up there and sit with the older people :P

Tomorrow I'll writte my review in spanish and translate it to english, I'll try my best.

Anyways, Axl is a fuckin' demon lion, spitting a lot of fire from his mouth when he sings, he is unstoppable.
I could hear him in all songs, and I have to tell you, he did a great job casting a lot of anger and strength to sing.

(I don't know if "casting" is the apropiate verb, I want to say something like "drawing", "elaborate", "spitting").

Cya tomorrow.

Hey guys!

Just awakened after a well deserved bunch of hours in tha bed.

I went to Buenos Aires from Santa Fe, a city thats about 7 hours away. We were more less 100 fans i think in 2 buses. We left Santa Fe at 8:30 am and arrived Bs As just before the doors opened. There was a LARGE queue for the field sector, it started to move slowly but then quite fast so luckily it wasnt a pain waitin'.

Massacre opened first. Its a local band i have heard a lot about but actually never heard them. I like them. It was a nice performance and they sounded really good. There were some impatience people near the first rows that were throwing things and waving their hands like saying "Get out of the stage! We want GNR"...

La Mancha de Rolando took the stage later. I dont really like this band, but they sounded clear. When I read that they were going to play I thougt "I dont think they fit in a GNR concert".  And I still think the same but anyway lot of people (specially the younger ones) sang along and jumped around with the songs. The band played all their radio hits. Also, they extended their setlist. I saw a guy telling them from the backstage "One more" many times.

I think it was around... 10 pm when Sebastian took the stage. Man... what an awesome frontman!!! I was really excited about having the possibility of seing him before GNR but I also thougt about saving my energy for GNR... COULDN HELP IT, I was jumping like crazy very near the stage singing along all songs it was great!. Sebastian setlist was excellent! Big Guns, I remember you, Love is A Bitschlap, Stuck Inside, 18 and life... Anyway, before he started singin Argentinian Metalhead  :hihi: I went totally smashed out of air and almost fainted! I tried to get some oxygen going to the back rows but the crowd never ended LOL so i made my way to one of the sides of the field and asked a security guard to take me out! He took me to the nursery (there were several fainted people ther) and I sat down to get some rest and water. Then went back to he field to listen the rest of Sebastian set.  Dudes, he was really really really exited about the crowd. He said it was his best show ever, just couldnt belive we were so fn' crazy!!! It was awesome, thank you so much Sebastian!

Then we waited some time to the set to be prepared for THE BEAST...

The crowd were going impatience, all the ligths were on but... suddenly it was only the moonlight in the sky, that freakin intro started and we all screamed and went totally mad pushing each others to the front rows and then Ashba appeared playing CD intro and it was incredible! Guns n' Roses were there in front of me. I got seriously paralyzed :o But then found myself jumping like a fn' crazy wild monkey like all the field!

What can I say dudes... nothing. There are no words to describe my emotions... I wouldn know how to (I am not Axl  :hihi: )... It was great despite the mic problems in near the first half part of the show. Actually, the sound problem in Axl's voice didnt ruined the show cause we were singing instead of him LOL, it was great. Later on the show, Axl finally was sure the mic was ok and he screamed several time just for us and we responded going crazy!

Its a shame that there were people throwing things at the stage. I guess they were really worried about not being able to heard Axl's voice during the entire show. But then that shit stopped. A curios note: Back in the bus in where I came, a guy told me that at the end of PC Axl seemed to be arguin very angry with someone near the stage, he told me he tnik it was cause of this guy shouting something about Slash. But I am not sure, i was looking athe the awesome pyro and confetti  ;D

The band sounded incredibly! Frank is a god-dammed drum demon! 4tus, Ashba and Ron the awesomest of the awesomest awe! Chris really gave a great atmosphere to the sound and Dizzy was Dizzy: A fn' great guy and musician! Was very ovationed during his solo. Axl was craaaazy as always! He is the ultimate frontman. No discussion! It seemed to me that despite the pussys trowing things he was very happy, he smiled a lot and was in a really good mood. He was ovationed constantly during the show "Ole ole ole Axl Axl"

My personal higliths:

? Sorry (sounded so  fn' bold my bones were trembnling!)

? When Ron started the Dont Cry solo the crowd started sing along and then Axl appeared and started singin!!!! I couldn believe it man! I was too much for me! BEST SHOW EVER!

? Madagascar (I got really overwhelmed with emotion there).

? Actually, all the fn' show...

It was great. Sound problems cant bring down all the speacial moments of the nights. Finfing myself singing and jumping with fellow Gunners from all around the country showing our love for all the band, the history of a great band, but actually for this band, THE band just dont have price for me. I will never forget March 22 night.

Thanks a lot GNR. Return soon fuckers we will be waiting you!

I am sure I will remember more things during the day but thats all for now

In this video, you can clearly hear that the crowd is complaining about the sound problem!!! And the translator didn't say anything to Axl about this.

In front of the stage,  the sound of Axl's mic was very low.

:-\ god, reading your review  estebanf ,I must say we, chileans, were lucky then,  :-\ we didn't have any of that, we were lucky that the concert was held in a small venue where only respectful gnr fans were in. I remember reading Metallica had rioters outsite  the club h?pico, now I can imagine having the same problem if guns would have played over there. I agree with you, sometimes big crowds sucks.

I'm truly sorry for all the  problems in Argentina.

Shut up!!!! Axl should come back to Argentina. Not all Argentinians are bad. I'm from Argentina too. And I want a GNR show. I hate when people throw things, but not all Argentinians are like those ones.

Many people were angry last night because in the front, we couldn't hear Axl. Yeah, I paid a ticket and I couldn't hear Axl because there were problems with Axl's mic in some parts of the stadium. The rest of the band was great, the sound of guitars was awesome, but I'd like to hear Axl too. Argentina deserves another show!!!!!!

GUNS N' ROSES: At Least 12 People Arrested Outside Buenos Aires Concert - Mar. 23, 2010

According to Argentine media reports, at least 12 people were arrested last night (Monday, March 22) outside Velez stadium in Buenos Aires after a number of fans tried unsuccessfully to enter GUNS N' ROSES' concert at the venue without tickets or with counterfeit tickets purchased through the Internet.

Several people began throwing bottles and members of the Guardia de Infanter?a de la Polic?a Federal used gas and rubber bullets to disperse the unruly crowd. In addition, firefighters were called to the scene to extinguish a fire that was started in a tree outside the stadium.

Around 45,000 people attended the concert, which started around 11:00 p.m. ? two hours later than scheduled. According to several reports, there were audio problems at the venue, with some people close to the stage claiming that they couldn't hear Axl Rose's singing. The frontman also had to stop the show at least twice to have the interpreter tell the crowd to stop throwing stuff on stage.

A nine-minute report from C5N, a breaking news TV station broadcasting from Argentina, can be viewed below.

i couldn't care less.

Its quite simple Adz is not argentine and was not waiting for a single show after 17 years of waiting, to be ruined by some stupid people.

And i cant care less about Tatiana's comments. I explained i used that ''n'' word the way is used here, because I just cant explain it better since my mother language is not english. Its typical of argentine people, being such hypocrites, reading that ''n'' word (the way we used) and feel it scandalous, but i bet she has used that word plenty of times. ABout her saying ''insulting argentine people'': FUCK YES: i was doing that, so fucking what? Im argentine too.

I know i made a mistake using that word, which has a different and a more heavy connotation in english. I just think Adz could EDIT that parts, maybe giving me a negative point of karma, and avoid erasing my whole post, which i dedicated a lot of time.

Damn, they played Don't Cry! Unbelievable ;D

I understood your frustration estebanf and took it as a difference in languages.  You certainly haven't presented yourself as a racist or bigot here before.  All around fun kind of person for the most part.

I still can't believe Argentina got Don't Cry, that's special.  As soon as I can wade through all the posts I hope I can find the youtube of that.

Not trying to pick a fight with you, estebanf, but "the n word" is a racist term EVERYWHERE.
The fact that you and I come from a country that refuses to acknowledge this term as racist when it is clearly used in a derogartory way, insulting and entire race, doesn't make it ok. It just proves that our society needs to learn a few things, advance a few ideas and grow out of these ignorant ways.

I'm from Buenos Aires, born and raised here, and I do agree that a lot of people at the show (and at other shows I've attended, to be honest) behaved like idiots. But we have a name for that: IDIOTS. Idiocy doesn't come with the color of your skin, and it has nothing to do with where you were born: all human beings are capable of behaving like idiots. It's a choice.

I'll grant you that some people don't know any better, sometimes because of how they were brought up, but that doesn't give anyone the right to spew racism.

Again, I'm not trying to pick a fight here, I'm not trying to insult you or anything like that, and I'm not trying to convince you that I'm right and you're wrong. I'm just adding my two cents about this whole thing, because while I agree with you on some things about last night's concert and certain people who just don't know how to behave in public, I'm not with you regarding how you chose to describe those people.
I understand you're frustrated, and I am too.

I hope this clears the air a bit, and we can move on with the discussion, posting of photos, videos, and the things we all look for in these boards.

Cheers.

I still can't believe Argentina got Don't Cry, that's special.  As soon as I can wade through all the posts I hope I can find the youtube of that.

that was special.

but what was even more special is watching DJ, Richard and Bumble playing ''Por Una Cabeza'' (by one head > a horse winning a horse race at an hippodrome by the minimum difference), which is a tango written by the legendarious performer/songwritter Carlos Gardel, and his ethernal partner Alfredo Le Pera. What is really ironic is neither Gardel or Le Pera were argentine: there is a huge mistery and a lot of theories about Gardel's nationality (the strongest theories around claim he was born in France or in Uruguay), and Le Pera was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. ''Por Una Cabeza'' is as typical as our national anthem. This, along with ''Sossego'' and ''Tavaszi sz?l vizet ?raszt'', was one of the most incredible tributes ever done by GNR, but my impression is ''Por Una Cabeza'' was performed flawlessly, which is not the case of Sossego and the hungarian song.

That was a great demonstration of civic conscience, as well as a demonstration of first class hypocrisy. Dont need any of your lessons, sorry. Claiming you're an argentine gives my words even more strenght.

If you are walking the streets and you get robbed by someone once, then twice, then again and again, by the same person, you're not facing ''an idiot'' (''idiocy'' is a pathological / mental illness, not the case here), you're facing a ''insert word here / choose a word you feel confortable with''.

This is the case with some people at rock shows in Argentina. People who just dont go to the venue to see the artist performance. I could have been robbed TWICE yesterday, and got hit by these people multiple times. They dont know the words for Nightrain, but they know how to throw a lighter to DJ Ashba. 100% of them were white-skinned people, so your ''Idiocy doesn't come with the color of your skin'' is another proove of your cheap demagogy. I fucking know that, and i have lots of things to learn but i do not need to learn civic lessons from anybody.

If you are a brazilian, an american, if you live in europe or asia / australia, and you're a GNR fan, you'll never understand what some of the argentine GNR fans that attended yesterday's show felt there. 17 fucking long years waiting to see the band, and some assholes that dont even know who Axl Rose is were trying to ruin that ONLY and ONE date to make your dream come true. I am a human being, and opposite as you, I do not pretend im perfect: i feel hatred. I just hate these persons. Its not a matter of skin colours, religion, sex orientation: i hate [insert word here]. They tried to ruin it all for us, but they failed.

And you see ME speaking here, who was lucky enough to see two other nice shows, that occured with no problems. But there are THOUSANDS of fans who only were able to see the Buenos Aires show, and now they feel like if they were raped by these persons. I friend of mine was robbed (a very expensive cellphone), some others got their wallet robbed, and one motherfucker also hit a 20 years old girl who dreamed all her life this show, and because of the hit, she was pulled out from near the stage to see the whole show by the videowall, 60 meters away from the stage. Do you think this is fair, Mr. Civics? How would you call the guy who hit her and spoiled her dream? How would you fucking qualify the guy who steals a wallet, a cellphone, or the two times these guys tried to steal my wallet? And these people, some of them who had to travel like 800 km just to change the ticket (due to the change of venue), and then come back to their cities, and then 800 km to the stadium, and then 800 km back home... how do you think they feel? You think its funny to see how some motherfuckers ruin your dream? They are all expressing their anger in spanish speaking forums. I manage to speak some english, that's why im here, but trust me im not the only one with hatred flowing in the veins, and that, as i said, the immense majority of them COULDNT attend two toher shows like i did. They hatred is even bigger than mine.

I know Adz will erase this post, but who fucking cares.

The good thing is Guns N' Roses is the best fucking sounding band in earth, and that Axl Rose is the biggest and last true rockstar of this era. Long live to Guns N' Roses

First off, I did not have the chance to read Estebanf's review, so what I'm writing is based on the discussion that followed. Clearly misunderstandings based on language are very common and especially when writing on an international forum one should be careful even if (and perhaps just because) one is not writing in native tongue. Having said that board rules are board rules and should be respected by everyone, no questions asked, no matter what one's intentions were (and we can perhaps agree that Estebanf did not mean to be taken in the way he was). Could you consider posting an edited version of your review Estebanf? Your previous reviews were detailed and interesting and I think many would enjoy reading your account of the show.

already did, but Adz erased it too.

he clearly said ''at the end of the day, you still used a racist term'', so i erased the '''''''racist'''''' term and posted it again. He just deleted it, again. The brackets are there because i CLEARLY stated in my original post that i was NOT using the term with the english connotation, simply because I didnt know (still dont know) how to express it properly. And i also said a hell lots of very good and positive things about the band, who sounded unbelievably amazing and powerful.

What does any of this have to do with your choice of words? I understand that you're outraged by people's behavior, but that doesn't justify using that particular word - some words can't be contextually justified.

Esteban, I'm not trying to teach you a lesson, and again, I'm not trying to fight you.
You expressed your opinion, I expressed mine. I'm not saying that I'm right and you're wrong, or that you shouldn't feel hatred, anger, or whatever else you're feeling about this.

I'm not claiming to be argentine, I was simply born here. I have no pride regarding my country, because I simply do not think that way.

Someone who robs you is a criminal, man. Plain and simple.

Once more, I'm not trying to portray myself as "perfect" like you say, I never said "This is the truth and whatever that guy said is wrong". I'm speaking for me, as much as you're speaking for you. Agree or disagree, from reading your posts I figured you are an intelligent guy, and I hoped you wouldn't take my post as a personal attack. I never called you a racist, because I don't think you are one. The term is still a racist one, as long as it's being used in a derogatory way. That's not my opinion, that is a fact.

This was the only GN'R show I've attended in my entire life, so trust me, I do feel frustrated by some of the events that took place. Someone took my cellphone during the show too, and I'm currently unemployed, so getting a new one really put a dent in my financial situation. No, I'm not first class. I paid for the ticket with money I made by working.
I would've loved to be able to attend the Montevideo show, or one of the shows in Brazil, but as I said, I'm unemployed at the moment, so I couldn't afford it.

I too had been waiting for 17 years to see the band, I'm not a casual fan. I've been attending rock concerts for a good 15 years now (stadiums from big stadiums to small clubs), and this was one of the only shows I was looking forward to like I did when I was a kid. There are no words to express what a shit night I had. There's no consolation after watching videos and reading reviews from the Brazil, Uruguay and Chile shows, and then feeling like we got the short end of the stick here.

If you wanna vent your anger with me, fine. If you think attacking me and what I say is the way to go, fine. If you think calling me "Mr. Civics" will make you feel better or make me agree with you, fine. Yes, I try to be civil. If that's wrong, sorry. If that offends you, sorry.
I'm not civil 24/7, I did have to punch a guy during the concert because he was all over me and was harming me. I hadn't punched anyone in almost 10 years. Even though I know I was defending myself, I regret what I did. I wasn't thinking, I acted on impulse.
I'm not perfect, and neither are you, for that matter.

Just in case I wasn't clear, this is not a personal attack on you or the way you feel. I simply disagree on the way you choose to use the word the mods don't tolerate here. Yes, I see the irony, and censorship doesn't sit well with me either. I don't think your post should've been deleted, it should've been edited.

And again, if anything I said felt like a personal attack, or an insult, I apologise. I never meant it in an insulting way.

I feel sorry for Tatiana and other fans, but i just can't get the "we deserve a blablablablabla" bullshit.

I went to the shortest setlist show (Belo Horizonte) and i didn't get home disappointed. It was a fucking great time and i hope they come back soon!

Anyway, i saw the "translator" youtube video and yeah, he didn't tell Axl what the crowd was screaming

I couldn't hear Axl's voice, of couse, I'm going to go home sad. I wanted to cry. One thing is a short setlist and another thing is not hearing the singer. In some occasions, Axl's mic worked and I felt so so happy!!! His voice is unique. But then his mic stopped working again, and the vocal sound was very low and with echo. Then, in the last songs of the show his mic worked again.

I just want another show : (.  As I said before, I loved Chinese Democracy tour, the band was awesome. I really enjoyed it! But I couldn't hear the voice of my favorite singer! That's why most argentinian fans felt disappointed, and that's why the following day many fans wrote mails to radio stations to complain about this. They were angry due to these sound problems.

Axl, come back!  :'(  :'(

And I hate that translator!

GNR performance was great.

Sound was awful. I did listen Axl's voice 35% of the show. On I'ts so easy, Tommy's voice was double than Axl's.

Dizzy's piano solo started with no volume, and they put volume 10 seconds later.

This happened in montevideo too, but montevideo people acted more civilized. Argentinian people doesn't like bad shows, so they started screaming "no se escucha" (we cant listen) for few songs. Noone noticed the symbols, so they started trowing stuffs.

Axl's translator is a dickhead, he didn't explain to Axl the reason of the yellings and the show kept with bad volume settings for a few more songs.

It's lame, after waiting for 17 years, after paying expensive tickets, and with this kickass lineup, to get a horrible sounding show. GNR should come back in april again and do the show again.

AXL: WHY THE HELL DO YOU PAY LOTS OF MONEY FOR THAT GIGANT SOUND SYSTEM IF YOU PUT A MONKEY TO OPERATE IT ?

Imagine how much do I like this band... besides all the technical problems, this show was the most emotive in my life  :peace:

Yes it's true...sad but true, i was just in front of Fortus when that happened.

Lets talk about the show!

Now, talking about the show. I loved when BBF, Richard, Ashba played ?Por una cabeza?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFshhgAA2uk They surprised the crowd! Excellent!

I liked when Axl was joking with BBF on the floor at the last part of ?whole lotta Rosie?. We laughed  :hihi:

I went to the show with two friends and my brother. My friend, who was a girl, didn't know Ashba, well, she loved him, haha. Ashba was very nice and sweet with the crowd. He is beautiful and a great guitarist too. Thanks Axl!

Axl was WOW. I couldn't hear him well, but I could see him! He had a lot of energy, he ran from side to side. I loved his new look. He was beautiful!!! I love his attitude on stage.    I love him! I remember that when I couldn't hear him, I just remembered his voice from other shows, and I started singing with the rest of the crowd.

Richard and Ashba went from side to side of the stage. They were near the people. They played with a lot of energy. They had a smile on their faces. They seemed to be enjoying the show.

Frank was great. I wanted to see Tommy more, but he didn't move so much towards the people. Tommy!!! Ha.

Pitman was a bit far. He.

BBF great guitarist, very concentrated on his guitar.

The people screamed with joy and excitement, and we screamed much more when Axl's mic could be heard! In spite of mic problems, the crowd jumped and sang during the whole show. The last part of the show was amazing!!!

I want another GNR show!!! Please!   :peace:

AXL: WHY THE HELL DO YOU PAY LOTS OF MONEY FOR THAT GIGANT SOUND SYSTEM IF YOU PUT A MONKEY TO OPERATE IT ?

Technical problems are going to pop up now and then. That's a fact that can't be avoided by the best soundman.

Hahahaha! Yeah, I forgot to mention that in my (intend-of) review. It was really funny!

Ron ended playing ?Whole Lotta Rosie? lying on the floor playing like crazy and then Axl came and started (acting like he was) kicking him with Frank doing the SFX

The smile in Axl's face was awesome...

Wonder how Ron and Ashba got into "Por una cabeza"... Maybe someone told them in the hotel or they heard it earlier around the city.

I'm sure being around the culture is enough of an inspiration for them to just want to play something for the locals  : ok:

Who are the lucky guys standing behind Axl while he is singing? :smoking:

Did you guys notice that Axl started singing the last part of the song before the solo ended? that was weird

He's done that before.

I remember watching a youtube of Don't Cry from Japan and I even posted a comment about the TALENT N' PROFESSIONALISM that Ron showed when it happened then because without missing a beat, Ron transitioned to the exact point to match where Axl went.

In this Argentina version, I think Ron showed even more professionalism (if that's possible) because this time when that happened, Dj happened to be playing along side/with Ron.  Ron could have easily hung Dj out to dry and just go himself where Axl went in the song.  What Ron did do was finish the part Dj n' him were at before moving on to the point where Axl was at.

It's certainly Axl's prerogative to take any song in any direction.  It's just amazing the artistry and ability that Ron not only shows in handling anything that comes his way but also the way he guided (for lack of a better term) Dj through it also.

And let's not forget that we wouldn't even be hearing Axl sing Don't Cry if Ron didn't add it as part of HIS SOLO!!!

i've read people's reviews who were at the same sector i was and they claim they "heard" axl just fine.... well, i think those are that kind of people that can't hear anything negative said about their favorite band, or they have special ears, i don't know... fact is i was there and axl's voice was barely heard and lot of people from different sectors said the same...

I totally agree with this, I was saying something similar about how the new band have to guess when to go for the change and start the power chords during Jungle after the bridge and solo. I'm sure alot have noticed that the new band improvise the bit before Axl says ' Do you know where you are? ' after the second solo. This is amazing to watch live, and shows just how talented the whole band is because if one person goes too early or too late, it would throw everyone else off balance.

The new band are on fire, and also with that Bumblefoot seems to keep on getting better and better.

I love the man.

very nice of your part.  : ok:

i clearly stated that 100% of the people throwing shit and robbing at the show were argentine and white skinned, i am argentine and white skinned, so do all my family and friends, and you say i need an excuse to use racist terms  ::)

its easy to pretend you have the last word and the truth about something when you're the only one capable of censoring and insulting others. Good to see real life is not this way. Obviously, you dont care about me being flagrantly offended by your words.

I wonder if you reacted like Mother Teresa thinking for yourself ''this good human being maybe needs my phone to do some good deeds'' when you got your iphone stolen. Yeah, i do believe that... only difference here is i am not an hypocrite and as a human being i feel hatred. NOTHING to do with racism.

Dont worry, this is my last post in this thread.

What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

Unlike you, I didn't blame the entire population of Brazil for my phone being stolen.

That was one person who did it, not an entire city, a nation or a race.

I wouldn't call the person a fucking Brazilian in a negative way. I would call him/her a fucking thief.

That's the difference between me and you.

The so called censoring. You only got yourself to blame. It's pretty moronic to make a full post and then use terms you damn well know are offensive to people outside your own country. You should know that this is not your site. You don't get to decide what's offensive. We don't necessarily follow the rules you have made up or the rules that might be acceptable among your friends in Argentina.

If you haven't realized that this place is international with people from all over the world, consider this your wake up call.

You are picking 1 video where some people can't hear. I've seen tons of videos from the show that the sound is perfect. I'm not saying there wasn't ANY sound problem near the stage cause obviously there was a problem there but you can't blame the sound guy cause some NOT ALL people couldn't hear. I think that to use a color as an adjetive is not good ... There were a lot of stupid people in the show (10% of all, but they managed to call atention), that was the problem ... and it?s true that argentine crowd can be the best in the word, but can be the worst too ... there is  lot of people here that is so intolerable ...

The show was great ! I love the band and Axl .. During the first 50 minutes Axl?s Mic wasn?t ok .. I saw the whole show 10 or 5 meters from Axl, that was amazing. I could see everything he did when I was in front of him, it was a dream ! But, I repeat, it was low Axl?s mic ... or I don?t know what really happened because a lot of people who were a lot of meters back could hear the show better. Some of them said it was great the whole performance in that aspect. When the band played Street of Dreams was the moment that Axl?s mic was corrected.

It could be the perfect show, but because of the first part, didn?t happened.

I went home happy. I saw for the first time in my life the band that I love from 1991. Thank you Axl and all members of the band that were fantastic, all of them and sounds as a great machine of rock and roll !!! Hope Guns N? Roses come back to Argentina again any time !!

Definitively there were sound problems at the show, I was not there but you can notice clearly in the videos and also in the audio posted in the download section, in Sorry for example you can barely hear Axl Voice, Bumblefoot in is twiteer mentioned that it seemed to be a problem with the PA system.

It's really frustrating to be waiting this show for 17 years and things like this happens, I don't blame anybody for this but I understand the anger in the people who went to see this amazing band and couldn't hear Axl voice for most of the show,

You are picking 1 video where some people can't hear. I've seen tons of videos from the show that the sound is perfect. I'm not saying there wasn't ANY sound problem near the stage cause obviously there was a problem there but you can't blame the sound guy cause some NOT ALL people couldn't hear. Obviously if there was anything the sound guy could have done to fix the problem he would have done it.

There were problems in the front, not in the other areas of the stadium. Yeah. That's why some people could hear him and others not.

What was weird is that nobody stopped the show to say: ?there are technical problems, we're going to try to fix it?. I think nobody was aware of that. Poor Axl, BBF, Ashba, Tommy, Frank, Pitman, Dizzy and Richard because they were playing without knowing what was happening.

I think you are a bit naive to think that the band could have stopped the show, even to fix up an obvious problem, and not cause a riot of some sort. From what I hear the crowd, or at least parts of it, were acting out of control and I don't think you can control that sort of crowd with any amount of sensible talk.

i think you're wrong. People would have wait all the time needed to be able to hear Axl's voice. When Axl's voice was perceptible, the crowd was A FRENZY, 100% happy and excited. Never see anything similar in uruguay or brasil.

But apparently, it was one of those problems you just can fix in some minutes.

The show itself was outstanding even with the techical problems. The complete responsability of the bitterweet taste some of us still have is on a part of the crowd.

Bumblefoot is simply a beast. If Axl described Slash as ''half man, half beast'' back in the eighties, well, Bumblefoot is 100% beast. The things he does with that fretless guitar are unbelievable.

And i (as well as some other argentine fans I was at the show) can say that I heard Axl's voice WITHOUT THE MIC during If The World. THAT'S something really impressive.

I was not there, of course, yet I think I have a point. There were really really many people there, all of them did not experience problems and may not have been aware that some did. If the concert would have suddenly stopped, do you think all in the audience would have had the patience to find out why before protesting? As far as I understand it would not have been enough for Axl just to announce they will continue as soon as the sound problems are fixed, but a translator would have needed to step in too and try to get the message through. Once such a big crowd starts protesting, it may be hard just to talk sense and make them stop, especially since there obviously were people there who were not there just for the music. Why take the risk?

At best in this situation, if the band were aware of the sound issues, they would have acknowledged the problem and ask the crowd to be patient while they work on the problem as the show continued.

Clearly from Ron's post they weren't aware of the issues and that the translator didn't mention this fact either, despite the crowd shouting this. The band sing and speak English so shouting ?No escuchamos? is Greek to me.... or other English only speaking people, I'd say in reply "No Eskimo's? WTF"

Sometimes life dishes out a curve-ball that just can't be helped, take consolation from the fact you got to see your idols and got to hear some songs as they were meant to be heard, right now I'd love that memory...

But in one of the shows of this tour (I don't remember which one) Axl stopped the show because there were some problems with something. In Argentina, nobody said anything, that's why people started to throw things. People wanted to stop the show. We wanted them to fix the problem. Perhaps, it was impossible to fix it so they decided to go on.

Technical problems are going to pop up now and then. That's a fact that can't be avoided by the best soundman.

I was 2 meters from the stage and I could hardly hear Axl. You said this beacuse you weren't there.

[/quote]

No, I said it because I've gone to and played shows where there were problems with the sound. Occasionally, you run into something that you couldn't have planned. I agree that it sucks for the crowd - just saying, it can't necessarily be controlled. They probably should have stopped the show, but it isn't easy for the tech crew to communicate with the band, and I'm sure Axl doesn't like to be interrupted when he's in the zone. It's bad luck, but at least they didn't cancel the show.

You know, it wasnt the best decision to throw stuff at the band (actually that was just plain wrong as they dont control the PA and it could hurt them) or to yell in spanish at the band.

If it was that bad, try to tell something at the soundboard guy at the center of the venue, in the middle of the crowd. The guys up there were the ones who could at least try to help.

I've been to shows where the sound changes during the course of the show.

It's not that uncommon....

I think throwing shit at the band isn't helping anybody. You think the first thing that comes to mind when you get hit with a bottle is "Oh, I guess the sound isn't ok"?

Regarding people who say the band should've stopped playing. Did it seem to you like the breaks between songs were peaceful and the crowd would've been happy to wait longer between songs?

I didn't get that impression.

Maybe the band avoided more people getting hurt and/or an actual riot by playing a full set....

I must admit that the Argentine crowd is a bit wild in comparison with other crowds. And people can be aggressive when they don?t like something or something is wrong. In my opinion, yes, it?d have been better to stop the show for some minutes to fix the problem. I don't know, maybe, the problem was easy. But I?m sure if they had explained to us the situation, the crowd would have waited without any riot because the problem started at the beginning of the show (after the second song). We just wanted to hear Axl's mic.

Sometimes different cultures and languages make things a bit difficult. In this particular case, the translator omitted to express the ?words? of the crowd to Axl. Bad job of the translator. Axl didn?t know what was happening with the crowd. Poor Axl, maybe he thought we didn?t like the songs!  :-\

What did Axl do in 1993? Called the interpreter, informed there were technical problems, and said ''were gonna be back as soon as they are corrected, thank you for your patience''.

And that was the most memorable show of the complete Skin N Bones tour from 1993, so I REALLY think trying to fix the technical problems, even needing some dead/waiting time, would have been the best option. Axl's voice was unhearable NOT in Madagascar, i mean, at the last part of the show, it was unhearable from the starting. But sadly, I think this was one of those techincal problems you just cant fix in ''minutes''...

The argentine show was a nightmare in terms of ticket sales organization, then the venue changed, then the date changed, then the incidents outside the venue, then the technical problems, then the assholes throwing stuff... trust me never expected this. It makes me sad for the people who was only able to attend to this show, not for me, really.

Those type of waves where everyone just moves forward and then all over the place happen everywhere.. at least in Bogota where I saw Maiden and Metallica.. so nothing extraordinary , just that they always shoot the concerts in Argentina..  time to move on.

OH MY GOD.. This is amazing though http://www.youtube.com/user/diegooviedo1#p/u/4/BWjy20V2vYE AMAZING, Goosebumps all over.. the singing is incredible, Reminded me of the 666 Documentary when Bruce is singing Fear of the dark..at the beggining  and says Argentinaaaaa... It's nice of Ron to post something about this. ;)

About the sound problem, I remember I went to a show in Paris a few years ago (a French band, not GN'R). It was a big venue and it was packed (it's where GN'R played in 2006: Bercy, about 17,000 seats). The band came on stage, the first 3 songs were fine and then the sound stopped working. The band stopped playing, the singer went backstage to see what was going on, started over, but the sound was still not working. Apparently the band didn't know, so the singer came closer to the front row and asked the audience close to the stage if they could hear. We answered no so the band went backstage and it lasted for a while (like 10 minutes). The crew fixed the sound and then it was ok for the rest of the show.

Of course, it happened in an arena, not in a stadium with 45,000 people. For us, the band understood something was wrong because it was the whole band, but for Buenos Aires it seems it was only Axl's mic, and only in some parts of the stadium, which is why it was very difficult to fix. Maybe the sound crew didn't hear the problem, or if they did, they couldn't/ didn't have time to fix it during the concert.

I agree, sound problems can happen at any show. You only have to think back to Download 06 to remember how unpredictable the sound can be at a show. And also how much of a pain it is to sort it out while the audience are going crazy. But in any event, I think it's kind of obvious that throwing things at the stage is not going to improve the situation at all.

I also know it must be hard when there are a small percentage of people in the crowd trying to spoil the show for the majority. I hope that most of the audience enjoyed the show, and it sounds to me like everyone had a blast. Good on GN'R for playing a full set and for not letting the minority who were throwing objects at the stage win.

For the people who felt the sound problems spoiled the show for them, I have to say it's an unpredictable aspect of any show. I'm sure most people on this forum have gone to a show where the sound didn't live up to their expectations. Just try to be happy GN'R played a full set, and in saying that be thankful GN'R put up with objects being thrown at the stage, when they would have been entitled to leave if they chose.

I think throwing shit at the band isn't helping anybody. You think the first thing that comes to mind when you get hit with a bottle is "Oh, I guess the sound isn't ok"?

100% agree.
Do you think the first thing that comes to mind when you have waited for 10 non-stop songs to hear the singer?s voice is '..I?m sure they are working on it....' ?
I can - in some way ? understand, not justify, the violent behavior.  People spent 10 songs throwing nothing but signals.
1st ? With the hands on the air and fingers doing a Negative signal.
2nd ? Chanting ?no se escucha?
3rd - ?Chanting ?Sub? el volumen, la puta que te pario? meaning ?Turn up the volume, damn it?
4th ? Giving signals to the band?s members.
(In Montevideo, I was in first row and another fan standing right next to me told DJ Ashba (you know?gesticulating) to turn up the volume of Axl?s mic  ? and he did understood, we could see him talking to some guys in charge of the sound i guess ? He also came back to us and asked if it was better  -  Such a Nice Guy - )

I?m really sorry that throwing things on stage was the only effective way to catch the band's attention. I guess it was crowd's last resource. I apologize to the band for that.  I really do. Of course they are not to blame. But yes, someone must be responsible and fix whatever the hell is wrong with their sound, 'cause if not -  it will eventually damage GNR image

Regarding people who say the band should've stopped playing. Did it seem to you like the breaks between songs were peaceful and the crowd would've been happy to wait longer between songs?

I didn't get that impression.

When Axl asked the first time for an interpreter many people thought he was going to talk about the sound, but instead of that he gave as a warning about the shits being thrown onstage.  :-[ That made people get even more annoyed and upset. It was like a fucking joke.?or a nightmare.
Then, the main problem was not only the Audio technical difficulties, the problem was that nobody seemed to be aware of that? :'( and that meant to us that nobody was trying to fix it. So yes, I was one of those who would have preferred the show to be stopped rather than watching Axl making movements like a mime. Especially because I know he?s voice is in perfect shape.

We would have waited an eternity?People were ready to have fun, A proof to that is how the crowd changed their attitude as soon as Axl?s voice could be heard in the whole stadium.  : ok: And this is just my thought but I believe Axl noticed that change as well and gave us reasons to believe he had understood our bad behavior. ;)

Anyway?I enjoyed the show and it makes me really happy to watch all those youtube videos where his voice can be clearly appreciated. : ok:
And? Damn we`re good! ?.have you seen that crowd??. ..Who said we were upset !

axlrose    Headed 4 Lima! Was great gettin' back 2 Buenos Aires!! The crowds everywhere on this tour r unique un2 themselves. Don't get much rowdier or energetic than here n' as w/ Belo Horizonte n' Santiago etc. very humbling. Sure there's excited idiots who throw shit or whatever but 4 the most part the fans r so enthusiastic, positive n' we mean so much 2 them it sets u bk n' makes u work hard to feel u can earn a small part of the respect they show u. So many of these shows we have trouble w/r sound on stage to b able to hear 'cuz the audience is singing along so loud which is amazing!! It's also nice to visit places that aren't as jaded n' influenced by peer pressure or media nonsense. They know what they like n' stand up 4 it rather than b told what they should n' shouldn't b in2. I grew up w/the preppies n' jocks w/their pink Izod's where Bowie, Cooper, Zeppelin etc. were considered garbage n' when The Cars, The Police, The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols etc were "gay", whatever. South American fans have always been so good to us, I'm happy we were able to find a way to play for those we've been fortunate enough to have seen so far!! Obrigado, Gracias n' Thank You!! N' to the officials who gave us extra time in Buenos Aires a triple Thank You!! Peace!!

It was the least that the Bs As goverment could do! I heard the River stadium was ironically authorized the day before the show!...

Anyway, great to hear that words from Axl.

I've listened to a lot of audio clips from 2001, 2002, 2006-7, and of this on going tour and I have to say that the Out to Get Me performance from this show just blows me away, the band is tight and axl of course in fine vocal and physical form. I wish they played this song more though.
