I like the RIR 3 version where the band stopped before the final line and Axl just belted out his solo of "the only one in the game who's lost is you".

I liked the song from the very first time I heard it... It has something...  Roll Eyes  maybe "catchy" is the word that makes you want to listen over and over again 'til you like it!

AND
(always wanted to say this in a GN'R message board...)

Heh, I was just listening to Oh My God earlier today

One of the most underrated GnR songs.  The song kind of feels unfinished but the lyrics are really strong and the chorus is f'n awesome.  I would love to hear a 2001 studio version with the added effects and the Buckethead guitars, if one even exists

I still love it. Most of the new stuff is a dissapointment to me by comparison. except maybe better, twat and the blues. but my jury is still out on the blues til i hear a studio version, even if thats just a demo.

Guns N' Roses is about the music they want to make, like any other decent band.

A band that is making music that they are supposed to make is usually a manufactured band. Which equals shit.

The industrial-ish side of guns n roses represents a certain time in GnR's time line. Like the hard rock (AFD), epic (UYI), punk (TSI) to the newer stuff. Its called development.

and I support it.

You know what I don't get? I've actually had arguments with people on forums who actually think that was done on purpose and they've gone on to say that thats a new change to the song.

Yep - was a mistake but it sounded quality.

The band sounded like it had hardly rehearsed at RIR3. Straight at the beginning of the set, during Jungle near the end for the loud scream, Brain gets it wrong and Axl has to sing the scream twice...Also during Patience the band play an extra line when Axl is about to close it causing him to improv....

It's so obvious. Just tell people to take a listen to the Vegas performance - which, by the way, I think it's way better.

I have the bootleg and I don't think I've ever listened to Oh My God from it.... I shall when I return home though.

that's not intentional, its clearly a mistake.

maybe if axl rehearsed with the band, that kind of thing wouldn't happen on a new song that they're trying to use to win over 100,000 skeptical fans ...

One of my favorite Guns songs, definately. I remember going to see End of Days and sitting through the credits, listening to that song and it gave me goosebumps. My friend and I looked at each other like "Shit, they're back." Of course ... they weren't back, but that's another thread (of which we have many).
