Megadeth vs. Metallica

     Most probably you have already talked about this, but I havent seen the thread so I wanted to say that Dave Mustaine alone, kicks Metallica's ass. What a great player and composser he is, definitely more interesting, complex and heavy music from my point of view compared to Metallica's.

Musically, Megadeth are technically better than Metallica, but I'd pick Hetfield's growl over Mustaine's any day. If we're going for direct comparisons, play The Four Horsemen against The Mechanix and you'll see what I mean.

It's all down to personal taste though. Both bands kick ass!

Megadeth... Dave's a better songwriter, and his band is a shade more ferocious than Metallica.

And Risk is the kind of experiment that both Load albums should've been - Shorter, leaner, and musically more daring.

Megadeth KILLSSSSSS Metallica. My second fav band.

They were more heavy.. more progressive.. and more.. uhh... super awesome.. yeah.

I even prefer Daves vocals... fits the music better.

Never been a big Metallica fan..

OK since we have this thread I love Megadeth one of my faves bands, Even though I like Metallica too I know that and I feel that Megadeth elaborates better a song than Metallica, I like the progresiveness and the riff that Megadeth have is just awsome.

How about we start a Mustaine vs Hammett thread too, just to make sure 

I'm a huge Megadeth fan.  I love Metallica too, and also went through a massive 'Tallica phase, but Megadeth have endured more for me.  I think until Megadeth go as low as St Anger they are the top band.  From KIMBABIG through to TSHF Megadeth have only really dipped on TWNAH imo, but that album is still far beter than St Anger.  Metallica have been struggling basically for years.  The next 'Tallica album is where we find out if they've lost/got it.  If it's anywhere near as bad as St Anger then it's goodbye Metallica

Lars is one of the best drummers, James' voice can't be beat, and I can't even begin to drool over Hammett's skills.

i love both bands, but this really isn't close. metallica is the better band.

just listen to everything they did from the 80's. you cannot top that shit. they have influenced so many more people.

it's become the cool thing to rip metallica in recent years, but they have made some of the best metal ever.

Well I like Better Mustaine over Hammet but both play very different, Hammet is some sort of blues orientated and Daveputs more agressiveness and speed in every solo which thats why I like better, one example Hook in Mouth

Well he did, not his fault, Im also tired he said stuff like that instead of moving forward, but hey is Dave that guy is kinda psyco. 2 words Sweating Bullets is like a autobiography of him.

Honestly I dont know anything about Mustaine's personal life, but music speak for itself, just listen to songs such as Holy wars, punishment due, Symphony of destruction and Ashes in your mouth, I dont think there are metallica songs that can beat those.
