1. Mr. Bungle
2. NIN (pre-downward spiral era)
3. Guns n' Roses

Bungle would be great - problem is:

1. They are no longer a band
2. Musically they don't fit at all
3. Bungle is not an arena band
4. I know I'll get flack for this but IMO Mr. Bungle is a far superior band in terms of musical talent

agreed, but it would stil be cool.  that is sort of my dream list (note that pre-downward spiral doesn't exist any more, either).  and I think bungle could still play in an arena even though they're not 'arena' rock stars.

I agree that Bungle wouldn't work...just not a good fit, though they do some great stuff.  Mike Patton is very innovative.

Wolfmother, Bach, GNR would be the perfect show.  Maybe wolfmother hasnt appeared on tour yet cuz they want to either headline or play right before GNR when bach is scheduled to play.

Thunder are a UK rock band who were big in the late 80s/early 90s. Their big break in US came courtesy of both Axl and Steven Tyler mentioning them to Geffen - there's countless interviews about it if you look for em. Unfortunately their album broke at the same time as Nevermind and they never really got the promotion that was needed to make it a success.

Personally the perfect opening band for me would be Hanoi Rocks.

Godsmack
Marilyn Manson
Buckcherry
Sevendust
Avenged Sevenfold
White Stripes
Weezer
Smashing Pumpkins
Social Distortion (My Pick)

I think they should get a big name band like the ones above.  These bands are all farily "big" but not big enough to headline an arena show.

I agree with you totally about the big name band thing. It will help sell tickets in certain markets and get them some more positive exposure.

Sevendust.? They are my second favorite band and they just so happen to be releasing an album on March 6th as well.

I never thought about them! They happen to be one of my favs too. I'm going to see them soon (it'll be the 6th time i've seen them) and i'm thinking about forking over the extra 20 bucks a ticket to preorder the new cd and get to meet the band after the show.

Well, I just can't picture either Muse or the White Stripes as being openers on the next leg of the tour.

However, I agree that both Wolfmother and the Stooges would make excellent/interesting candidates. ?ok

Cheers,

Motley Crue...If Vince and Axl can put the early 90's behind them. Have a co-headlining tour with both bands playing their full 2:30 hour sets. That would be an amazing show!

Shinedown, Silvertide, and Buckcherry are the best fits (and are best overall in that order IMO). I wouldn't mind White Stripes/Racounteers, The Killers, Evanescence (though I don't think Evanescence share too many fans with Guns N' Roses) and a few others. Most others I'd like are probably too big to be considered. If Axl wants a rap act to open (like he did with NWA in the 90s), Jay-Z and/or Lupe Fiasco would be awesome.
