a bit cynical are we?^ But I disagree. For the shear fact that nothing what you say is fully accurate, and yes Dont damn me is one of my favorite tunes, but there isn't a wait and see approach, its when is done its done, I doubt Axl cares about markets.

my comment was for AxlLynch

what is incorrect, you say that and then dont refute anything.

Haha you really dont think axl cares about making money on the cd...that is laughable.  If Axl didnt care about making money he wouldnt have lawyers who threaten to sue anyone who might injure his ability to make money, he wouldnt float around every conceivable marketing scheme and hire a manager who is known for trying to use every trick in the book to make money, he wouldnt want an exclusive deal with a large retailer, he wouldnt release a song via video game.  Why do you think the songs on a medium 95% of his audience doesnt own?  Its a marketing ploy, its marketing 101.  Make something rare and people will want it more and also cross promote.  Boom, he did it.

Its not cynical its called realistic.  Its the music BUSINESS, its not the music charity.  Its a business and Axl has always played into it, from doing promos on MTV, doing contests on MTV, merchandising everything.  Ok ok, if you dont think its about money, why would you let Sheryl Crowe cover SCOM.  Or why go after people who leak tracks, who would care, NIN and Saul Williams  both gave away their albums.  Its a business and Axl has always been smart and he will wait till the world wants him.  So I wish everyong bought the album and beggedtheir radio station.  I guarantee if OMG was better received we would have had CD very shortly.  Why else would Axl have 100 songs, that says there are songs he could release, but hes waiting and when the worlds ready he can spend most of his time touring and there are years of albums.

It's great to hear Axls voice again.  I like the song it has great rhythm and is catchy but what the
hell was that part in the middle?  Was that the solo?  It sounded like a computer dying.

First off  you dont know what the fuck you are talking about...There have been countless times that GNR has been approached to allow their music to be played in commercials, movies etc..and Axl was the one who shot most of them  down(according to Slash)...A guy who is concerned with money does not wait 17 years between records..So how many times a week do you hang out at Axl's house?...afterall you seem to know exactly what is going on in his mind and his motive behind everything he does.. hihi

Reading about this track makes me really jazzed up, I want to hear it, now!  Cheesy

But to all of you that have this rock star game; are you able to listen to the whole sing without "playing any instruments", or do you have to bang the pads the right way to hear the song as it is intended to be?

I've only played Guitar Hero earlier, and in that game you don't have the original instruments. You have that in Rock Band, right?

I have to agree with most people in the thread, it's a kick ass rocker.
The few that question the depth of the lyrics I wonder what you expected in the first place.  Do you expect  Axl to wail out Walt Whitman or W. H. Auden like couplets?
First new material to see Official Release in years, be thankful for the racket in your ears. namaste.

if you scroll down to the song without selecting it you can hear a nice portion of it.   The quality destroys any of the versions that might be floating around, I can see why the GnR camp isn't fond of leaks.

Hehe. I just don't understand it though. This song completely alienates some older fans and is not mainstream enough for potential fans.

One thing, given it's in a game their managements intrest is likely a younger audience.
Might for plain marketing purposes.

The youth is the highest income for the record industry.

Secondly, the song is "poppy" enough to be a hit within that audience I'd say.

The in-game sound is the real deal and has no such a thing.
But how the hell am I gonna hear this the way it's intended to be? I am so not buying a tv-game! Tongue

Is that Richard at the very end doing those high notes?

Its not cynical its called realistic.  Its the music BUSINESS, its not the music charity.
Big diference between the core-intrest of buisnesmen and artists. As in Axl and the record company.

You even talk like it was Axl who wen't after the blogger. Roll Eyes

The song is not bad at all. It's heavy, it's innovative, it's cool. My personal opinion is that the bad-ass atmosphere is not there but these are different times after all. Anyway, I think Better or Democracy will be a better solution for first single.  Grin
