What do you think of our chances for getting a new song on January 31?

I personally doubt it. I don't really consider this the start of the new tour or "chapter" or whatever.. I figure this is more of a one off show for a crowd of casuals who expect to hear the hits. A new song without context would just confuse them. If GNR had announced a new album by now or actually dropped a single to get it into the public consciousness, I would feel differently.

the inclusion of even one new song means an album is coming out this year.

Uh, I wouldn't be so sure about that. Remember, new CD material debuted live in 2001. That's not to say that I think it will take 7 years from the live debut of material, but that it may take longer than a year to finish writing and arranging everything, record and release it all. But it does at least indicate that new material is in the works.

They could do that, but as promotion for a new single or album, they're limiting the impact it could have if they're just going to sneak it in there. On the other hand, if there's really no album on the horizon it doesn't matter how you debut new songs.

I wonder if they're really going to do something with Snoop Dogg.  Maybe he'll just join in on KOHD in memory of Kobe & Gigi & the others who passed away. God rest their souls.

When Axl said don't get too excited, calm down now, I thought he was going somewhere else with that and my heart started to race.    He's talking though and that's always a good sign of the show getting better and better.  Might be some surprises coming up.
